So can we maybe discuss the fact that Worley actually looked pretty decent.....

He's awful. Mechanics are a mess, weak arm, etc, etc but he is the best option right now.

Compared to peterman though worley looks like a heisman hopeful

Before everybody starts drinking the Worley koolaid, he did very well against the UF 2s and 3s in their defensive backfield. Recall their D backfield 1s being out due to injury? He did look good against them. If you're a gator you need to be wringing your hands you fall off that bad when your defensive backfield 2s are in the game.

Worley clearly has better control of the offense. he has a lot of work ahead of him

Yeah. Peterman will be ok. I mean who the F want's to start in the Swamp..Especially knowing you might be responsible for the continuation of an embarrassing losing streak..

Agree with most of the OP. I continue to support Worley 100%. He's not going to win any awards, but he's not the problem with the team.

Re: Josh Smith, he's just young. He'll get better. They all will. But this year was always going to be rough.

He only looked decent when Florida started thinking about the after game party and busted their coverage. Hitting wide open receivers at this level of football does not constitute looking good IMO. We are still in a world of trouble at the QB position for at least this season and next. That being said, he is waaaaayy better than Peterman.

If I recall he made two really good throws down the sideline and I believe that was in the third quarter... So not defending or supporting worley just pointing out your facts are not accurate

I felt much better when he came in the game. Maybe it was a matter of comparison, but Worley actually looked pretty decent against Florida. The stats weren't bad IMO, and he was moving the sticks.

He can't be faulted for 2 interceptions, one of them was a prayer just seeing if we could make a crazy last ditch play for a touchdown. But even though he made a few questionable (aka terrible) passes, he put some tough throws right on the money as well. Basically I'm going back to my position before the Oregon game, and that is that I think Worley is a decent QB. At the very worst he's manageable.

Oh and I'm done with Josh Smith for a little while, the kid just isn't ready yet. He'll be great, but he isn't ready yet.

While I agree with this in general, could it be that if the Devil's advocate suggests that him looking "good" was soley by comparison to Peterman having an atrocious game, there may be some validity to this? Only good by comparison?

Worley needs to step into his throws and to do that he needs to have a clean pocket. The OL needs to get nasty and start pushing people around like the NFL talent they are. Worley seems to throw a lot off his back foot and he doesn't have the arm of Brett Favre to be accurate with those throws. Josh Smith is not bad (that's not to say he's great either yet) in fact a lot of the receivers have talent, but they need to be working on learning the system and where they should be. If they just get those couple of things fixed they could be a lot better.
