So ESPN is finally taking notice?

Fair enough, but you have to apply it both ways. However, I believe I understand what you mean because an injury to Worley would be much more detrimental to us than any injury to Mizzou or USCjr.

Or AJ or any (more) of the perilously thin O line or D line.

There's a lot of key players that are holding this team together.

I think we lose two more sec games at least. That means Georgia would have to lose three. I'm not sure which three they would. Auburn. Missouri maybe and maybe Arkansas now. The last two mentioned are road games for them

Darn toot'n!

May or may not happen this year, only time will cure this. The improvement every week is obvious, soon the time will come when everything clicks and comes together. Both ends are finally meeting in the middle now we just need to get them tied.

I just don't see UGA losing more than 2. Mizzou looks like an easy win for them, but I don't see them beating Arky.

I think 3 in the east is all you can ask for given we haven't beaten anyone yet.

Play the schedule and the rest will work out.

Agreed. But I watched the Mizzou and USCe game and saw nothing from either team that suggests they should beat UT. Maybe they'll play better but the effort UT had vs UGA on Saturday would have beaten either of those teams badly if they played that poorly. It was a game of unforced errors and poor play by both teams. As anemic as USCe's D has been... they showed that Mizzou's O has benefited statistically by playing a bunch of chumps.

Mauk who everyone but me seems to be impressed with STILL hasn't completed over 50% of his passes against a reasonably competent D as a starter.

UT should flat out abuse the MU D. Their DL is WAY behind what UT has faced the past two weeks and their secondary is just terrible.

USCe... may be even worse. How they managed to beat UGA is a mystery.... or maybe a testimony to Richt's habit of playing down to the competition.

BTW, Ole Miss was far less than impressive as well.

IMO in order of likelihood for an UGA loss: Auburn, UF, Arkansas.

I think they'll thump everyone else left on their schedule. One caveat is that team rankings in the poll come into play if the head to head match ups negate each other.

So let's say that UT, USCe, and UGA all end up with 2 losses. That would make the GT game very important. An UGA loss could drop them in the polls. If UT were the highest ranked of the 3 then I believe they represent the East.

All this speculation is way, WAY off at this point... but I think that's the way it works.

Carolina beat UGA by attacking their weak defense & by Richt/Bobo making dumb play calls.

I agree with the weak limb, but I really think we have played the 2 best teams we will face this year. Oklahoma was the most physically dominating team we will face and UGA is loaded with talent at all positions. I realize Bama is right up there as well, but Blake Simms doesn't put the fear in me like Splitter and Gourley. GBO.

Sure Blake Simms doesn't worry me in and of himself but Simms with Drake, Cooper and Henry does cause me some concern.

I know this is going to come out wrong, but I really think we're getting ahead of ourselves.

We are 4-20 in the SEC over the past 3 seasons, and are now 0-1 for this season. I feel as optimistic as any about our future, and I believe we will win some games that ppl arent going to have us favored in. I feel that this team is turning the corner and will be remembered fondly for being a real turning point in our program. But talking about winning the SEC East this season seems a taaaaaad premature.

That being said, I look forward to joining this conversation in a few weeks. :)

Take things One game at a time. Otherwise you turn into the 05' team and become very dissapointed

Agree 100%! Love the enthusiasm but you have to be sensible with it. I have seen one poster calling for the firing of coaches, and another saying we have a chance at the SEC east. I'm trying to make up my mind which one makes the least sense.

Bama scares me because of Saban and Kiffin (and all their 5 stars - never know which one is about to show up and show you why they are 5 star). Regarding Kiffin, remember his beatdown of Martinez and Jancek when they were at UGA (last time we beat UGA)?

We're relying on a lot head to head results amongst division members to come to the conclusion that were going to win 5 conference games. In each of those games there had to be a winner and a loser and the fact that neither may have looked pretty doesn't mean we're going to beat both of them. I'd like to see us win something before we try to seize the crown.

Yeah, I usually like to win one SEC game before talking about winning the east.:). But I do like their optimism. The down side to the optimism is the next time we lose a game, It will be the end of everything.

I've made a lot of excuses these past six years, but I honestly think if Worley didn't miss that quarter we win by two scores. Georgia's offense was stagnant and our defense played great, the only problem was our offense was sputtering for an entire quarter.

and we were set up with absolutely great field position when Peterman initially went in

We sputtered several drives before Peterman came in. Like the announcers said we had terrible play calling and went away from what we were killing GA with and ran the ball.
