This would be a good opportunity to reflect on the great moments from the Bill Battle teams through Fulmer to enjoy and educate our younger fans on why us "old farts" as we are refered to when disagree or demand respect for the program and it's VFL's like T martin, Fulmer ect...

It does appear a little slow, but like another poster said Guarantano, Hardman, Warrior, and Bituli(hopefully) are about to jump on board. We already have 3 studs who seem to be firm commits in Johnson, Brooks, and Osborne. Phillips is a sleeper IMO. We are going to be selective so it might be a little later process than 2015 class was.

I don't see Phillips decommitting. He is our "Darrell Miller" of this class. Excellent film even though he is a 3 star.

This may just be a difference of opinion but I wasn't impressed enough by his film to call it "excellent". He looked small and did not appear to have great speed. Good instincts on the ball but I could really see this kid getting abused as a DB in the SEC. He plays good competition which is a plus, but nothing stood out to me when watching. Just curious where the coaches are going with the Phillips commit - especially since they have been trending towards recruiting longer or taller DBs. My guess is he is a commit who has certain "terms", ie no official visits, in-homes, etc...again just a guess but I would not be surprised if he was a blueshirt guy...same with Dorian Banks I don't see how he's going to fit in this class either.

At this time last year, I was concerned that 2014 may have been a fluke (numerous legacies and in-states). 2015 has removed all doubt, however: Butch can recruit.

First of all, ignore the 2016 "star" ratings for now. They'll shift considerably over the next few months as players camp. At this point last year, Kahlil McKenzie, Preston Williams, Drew Richmond, Alvin Kamara, and Kyle Phillips were all 4-stars. Dormady was a 2-star on some boards.

We currently have six solid commits, including two top-247's (TE Devante Brooks and OL Ryan Johnson).

We're in the final three (with tOSU and Rutgers) for QB Jarrett Guarantano, who is top-100. If we whiff on Guarantano, the 2017 class is supposedly loaded with elite QB's.

Emmitt Gooden, who'll likely be a 5-star DE, and is the current #1 player in the state, has named us as his leader.

We're generally considered the leaders for S Nigel Warrior (Dale Carter's son) and CB Mecole Hardman, and among the leaders for CB Joejuan Williams; all three are top-247.

We're among the leaders for top-247 RBs Elijah Holyfield (Evander's son) and Matthew Falcon.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg for 2016.
