So is it safe to say that Vandy's basketball team was criminally overrated?

Went to a Station Camp game last week when they played Portland and Jenkins showed up. Portland fans started chanting "Corey's better" referring to Corey Brewer and they sang Rocky Top. Jenkins just smiled and continued signing autographs. I have never heard anyone question his character until this thread. The guy is a great young man as far as I can tell, even if he does play for Vandy.

To be fair, I didnt question anything. I just stated what happened.

I tend to think of myself as a person of high character, and I have made some mistakes in my life. Especially at that age. Not trying to bash the kid.

I do wonder how it is that so many people know this kid. I could go to the middle the middle of nowhere, (Lets assume Lawrence Kansas) and mention that one game that he played at Station Camp, and some stranger on the street would say to me "I know John Jenkins, and he is a great kid, he would never do that"

Well. he did. Mistake? yes. Should it doom him the rest of his life? No.

I just mentioned it because I find it hard to deal with people talking about how perfect he is all the time. He is a kid, hes not perfect.

Im not doubting he did it Im saying one grab of the crotch is not a true reflection of what Ive heard about this guy. And yes, it seems EVERYONE knows him.

I have heard a TON of very positive things about this kid. I believe you are right that one crotch grab is not a good reflection of who he is. Im trying to mellow my stance on him. And it is working.

Anyways, Im sure jJenkins is a great guy, and even more certain he will be a fine adult. I hope that was one isolated incident and he never falls back on it again.

Like I said, I wish nothing but the best for the guy. :good!::good!:
