i am sincerely glad someone here detests that man as much as I do.
You saw my assesment of him earlier on this board. If he was as important as he thinks he is, Memphis could hire him as their new coach, AD and school president.

Yeah, because Lon Kruger's never done anything. It's probably best that you're the one UK fan in the world that follows football more closely than hoops.
The more I think about it, Krueger might be an inspired hire. Sorta like when Memphis hired Cal when he was sitting on a bench after being fired by the Nets and he revived the Tiger program. I think Lon could keep the program at Memphis going and maybe elevate it. All depends on his recruiting abilities.

Everyone knows I think Lon is a fabulous coach. That said, I can't imagine he and Memphis being a comfortable marriage. Kruger to Arizona makes a whole lot more sense to me.

To quote most Memphis fans, "screw him then, we don't need his ass"... But you're right, a guy that was comfortable in Champagne certainly couldn't fit in Memphis.

Memphis fans need to dial into reality. If they are actually remotely considering Scott Drew, Lon Kruger would be a Godsend. RC Johnson and Team FedEx screwed this up from the start by operating under the delusional belief that Tim Floyd was a viable option. That mistaken line of thinking led to them burning two plus days pursuing a coach who had zero interest in their job.

I never saw the Floyd crush personally. I wondered about why they wouldn't try to contact Jay Wright but you said he wouldn't be interested. I don't know what he's making at Nova but 3 huge would seem like a bargaining chip to me. Having Fred Smith and Billy Dunavant in your corner tends to make a lot of folks interest pique. Anyway, there will be a bunch of coaches in Detroit this weekend and if RC Johnson has any sense at all his ass will be up there to try to find somebody for the job.

Dont know much about LK after he left KSU. Was glad when he left, him and his unibrow always put the hurt on MU. He was a good player and a good coach in the day. Wouldnt be a bad choice for Memphis. He has probably forgot more about basketball than most coaches know now.

Screw Krueger, Drew, Kennedy, Barbee, or Kellogg. I'd rather have Josh Pastner. Kid can recruit and WILL be a star in next 5 years. Give him a shot at $1 mill a year, have a huge buyout, and let him learn Xs and Os while he recruits the talent he has at Ariz. and Memphis.

I would rather try Pastner over Krueger, Drew or Barbee.
