The more I think about it, Krueger might be an inspired hire. Sorta like when Memphis hired Cal when he was sitting on a bench after being fired by the Nets and he revived the Tiger program. I think Lon could keep the program at Memphis going and maybe elevate it. All depends on his recruiting abilities.Yeah, because Lon Kruger's never done anything. It's probably best that you're the one UK fan in the world that follows football more closely than hoops.
Everyone knows I think Lon is a fabulous coach. That said, I can't imagine he and Memphis being a comfortable marriage. Kruger to Arizona makes a whole lot more sense to me.The more I think about it, Krueger might be an inspired hire. To quote most Memphis fans, "screw him then, we don't need his ass"... But you're right, a guy that was comfortable in Champagne certainly couldn't fit in Memphis.Everyone knows I think Lon is a fabulous coach. Memphis fans need to dial into reality. If they are actually remotely considering Scott Drew, Lon Kruger would be a Godsend. RC Johnson and Team FedEx screwed this up from the start by operating under the delusional belief that Tim Floyd was a viable option. That mistaken line of thinking led to them burning two plus days pursuing a coach who had zero interest in their job.To quote most Memphis fans, "screw him then, we don't need his ass"... Screw Krueger, Drew, Kennedy, Barbee, or Kellogg. I'd rather have Josh Pastner. Kid can recruit and WILL be a star in next 5 years. Give him a shot at $1 mill a year, have a huge buyout, and let him learn Xs and Os while he recruits the talent he has at Ariz. and Memphis.
