so much hate

It is heartbreaking for me to see so many volnation family fighting with each other over the past few weeks. Is it the losing? Fallout over gruden not wanting anything to do with us? I've got some guy acting as though I have killed someone over punctuation. I thought this was a football forum where us fans came together to talk about football. Even if we have different views on things, the name calling and pitching a fit over things that are not football blows my mind. I thought WE were Tennessee?

:lolabove: He thinks we're here to talk about football.

Yeah a lot of people believe we DESERVE better but that is far from the truth. We DESERVE exactly what we are getting. When you have a fan base and administration so caught up in TRADITION that they don't want any change this is what happens. Tradition is a nice way of saying we use to be relevant. We don't do the things that attracts top notch talent here. For an example the simple thing about the uniforms that type of thing bring hype and gets the attention of 17 year old players. We will forever be a fan base divided until we accept change.

Come on now...you have a reputation to uphold.

all i have to say is negative, i really don't like the hire, recruiting looks like it is going in the toilet which right now is a accurate observation with recruits jumping ship. the only positive i can think of, it is early yet and maybe jones can turn it around. i look at who he is offering and it doesn't make me feel to good. this is just an opinion on what i see. this will though be enough for the name callers and flamers to come out of the wood work. if they want to say i'm wrong i'm cool with that. would like to know there thoughts on why i'm wrong, but you just don't get that. it will be number 1 idiot, number 1 negavol or some other crap. which leads me to believe they are just trolling which alot are have like less than 50 posts or are just deeply disturbed.

Few weeks? You mean, few years?

Sorry, I have not been on for a while. My wife has been off and on chemo for te past year. I just do not recall this much fighting from the last time I was here reading. The coaching search got me hooked back into it, along with hoping the chemo is over.

You know you are not aloud to speak your mind here without ramifications.

In all seriousness, I have my questions as well. The postitives I take are he will be a huge upgrade to Dooley and as it sounds like Dooley gave up on TN and recruiting last year after KY, I would hope we can get a decent class. The whole time I was hoping we could get a big name hire as I felt the transition back to winning would be quicker. I don't have anything against CBJ but I don't have much confidence that he can turn it around. We all witnessed Bama going through the same thing that were in only not quite as bad as us. They went through several hires before they realized they were going to have to step up to the plate and get a proven winner. I see UT mirroring Bama so much and it bothers me that we can't learn from their mistakes.

The attitudes that disgust me are the one's that say things like "There is no way a big time coach is going to come here" or "We are not as big of a program as Bama or Florida". Maybe I am wrong but I seem to have a higher standard than some of our fans.

That's stuff to be heartbroken about. I'm terribly sorry to hear that. We've had our fair share of cancer in our family. God bless you guys.

Great post! It's easier to get along when we are winning. People are sick and tired of losing so they are frustrated. Winning cures all sir but one thing for sure...if you stuck with Tennessee through all of this, you are for sure a true fan :hi:

the ignore button is really a critical part of enjoying this site - the only problem is when someone on your ignore list gets quoted - but it certainly helps

The idea that it is wrong to hate the negativity is a wrong idea. These posts are just people miserable with their lives and want to trash people just to do feel better about themselves. I salute you OP.
