You shouldn't be surprised that those who argued with you yesterday , will not admit you are right.

As I said, I didn't get to see the game but judging by the comments of those who aren't typically blind "rah rah" guys, it doesn't sound like we completely matched Alabama 100% in the intensity department. We may have given a pretty good effort but I suspect Bama just played with slightly more focus and desperation. As for being surprised, I'd be surprised if the sunshine pumpers ever admitted that something in the playing or coaching was lacking or subpar.

bama- quicker and with better players. Coach Martin has done well with this team this year. But unless we do a better job of evaluating talent, we will never be better than a bubble team.

Here is our problem:

Stokes- not a good defender- slow and can not jump. He must lose about 15 lbs for quickness and jumping ability. He must improve his shooting. He has lots of potential but do not believe he will ever be an NBA player.

Golden- slow- not a good defender- has too many turnovers

Mcbee- Slow- not a good defender- spotty shooter. When McBee is in the game, teams target him when
he is on defense because he is so slow.

McRae- great shooter, not a good defender-has too many turnovers- lots of potential- not ready for the NBA.

Richardson -good defender, good short game on offense but need to develop 3 point shooting. lots of potential

Moore- Good defender, Good leaper, Weak Offensively- lots of potential

Reese- was never a star in high school- do not expect him to do a lot for us.

Chievous- Great hustle - limited talent -must get stronger to play the 4 because he is not quick enough to play a guard spot. Will never be a starter.

Overall- we do not have quickness in our guards and our big men are wide and not that tall and can not jump well, so teams take it to the basket on us with ease.

I hope you got a check for writing that novel

ridiculous that op creates a thread and lies about not watching the game to make himself look like a seer.

I didn't lie my friendly little internet stalker!!! I was at work and couldn't get the game. Some people have to work for living while those collecting a gov't check can sit home and watch the game on their big screens! I did see the score occasionally though. Don't be mad my little buddy. I can't help it if I'm just far more knowledgeable about college basketball and Vol sports than you and your sunshine pumper pals. Don't be a hater. See you in the next thread I post !!!

Wasn't about intensity, Bama is just more athletic than us and we didn't make shots including crucial free throws.

your excitement and **** talking after a big loss for the program is pathetic, but we all knew it was coming.
Congrats on getting your goal and the attention you desire as an internet attention whore.
In regards to stalking, it's like a train wreck. I can't help it. And to think you think you are knowledgeable is damn funny.

Yes, those who stalk can't help it. It's called being mentally ill.

By the way, nobody was talking **** 'til you showed up, but we all should have realized that wherever I am, you'll be soon to follow.

Hopefully you weren't referring to me. You don't have to agree with me or listen to me, but for the record I'm anything but a 'rah rah' type of fan.

I sat in my chair with a ****ing pissed off look on my face that entire game. I didn't enjoy it. It sucked.

But I still say intensity and effort weren't an issue. Execution was. And maybe focus as well, but only to a degree. Focus and intensity aren't the same thing though.

I take on the responsibility of tracking down ignorance, attention whoring, and dumbassery. That's why you keep seeing me.

I was not referring to you. While you seem more positive than I am by nature, you don't appear to be a blind optimist sunshine pumper type. Those types are ultra sensitive and emotional about any post that's even the slightest bit critical, and usually can't respond in any other manner other than to fling personal insults. I actually enjoy discussion with you. I'd say you are probably right somewhat, but I would argue that intensity is more that just physical effort and hustle. I would argue that there is a mental aspect to intensity as well as physical that is somewhat akin to focus, or is reflected by focus and playing with fewer mistakes. Perhaps you could call it mental intensity or mental toughness. I have no doubt that we gave as much in the physical department as Bama, but part of what I meant yesterday was worrying about our mental intensity lacking that shows up in a lack of focus and mistakes. I was worried yesterday that Bama would be more intense in terms of mental toughness and will to win. In this respect we probably did not quite match them.

Thanks for some rational discussion. You seem to be the only one on this board who disagrees with me that's capable of that !!!

Oh yeah, no problem man. Like I said the other day, I don't see you like the other trolls who simply refuse to admit when they are wrong and openly ridicule everyone who disagrees.

With that said, I think we're arguing different things. I'd agree that we lacked mental toughness. But I would say that we 'wanted to win' and gave as much 'effort' mentally just as badly as Bama. But 'wanting to win' and being mentally tough IMO are two different things. Do you know what I'm saying? It's sort of hard to articulate.

Why so negative on every post. I know your the only person posting with anything intelligent to say. I'm just a big fan of my beloved Vols, and negative people like you really make all of Volunteer fans pissed off!

I'm a big fan too and an alum as well, but I don't let my fandom blind me to reality. Blind "rah rah cheerleader" optimists really piss me off.

I agree, it is sort of hard to articulate. I think the difference may be that I just see mental toughness as part of overall intensity.

Nevertheless, we still lost and now we're at the mercy of the selection committee. I still think we have a chance to get in, maybe 20%. If we don't get in, it will be hard to get excited about the NIT.

I would rather watch Honey Boo Boo than the NIT, which is only slightly better than gay porn.
