So we have 1 path left to win the East

I'm not as concerned with winning the east as I am just playing good football the rest of the way. I would love to win out, or at least beat everyone not named Georgia. If you win out and get some luck with the rest of it and win the East, that's great too. The rest of the season is about winning as many as we can, and developing some young guys. I'm happy we have some real building blocks on defense with Pearce, Josephs, and Herring, but we are going to need to get some young guys in the secondary and on the interior of the line some real snaps going forward. Same can be said about offense. Sampson, Squirrel, Nico, etc are a great start, but we are going to lose a lot on the offensive line and WR assuming Bru doesn't come back. I am happy that Webb and Nimrod have been playing. Webb didn't make a huge impact, but the did feel the need to put their best CB on him. I didn't really see Nimrod in this game very much.

I disagree with one path. Yes Florida won but they are unranked, and terrible. Gators could get lucky and beat ga at Jacksonville. The bulldogs still have to play mizzo and ole miss. A one loss ga would lose the tiebreaker to the vols with a win at home. Why don't we believe we could win out, because we lost to Bama at home?

UGA would have to lose to UT and another SEC team. Fla would have to have 3 SEC losses. With just two losses Fla would hold the tie breaker of the heads up win with us. If UT was the only team to beat UGA they’d still win the East with only one SEC loss

We will win out with teams not named ga. I also believe ga at home is win if Milton and Squirrel play well

We've got a path to saving face and maybe finishing with some respectability. That's about it because if by some miracle other teams stumble and we're gifted the East, sorry but we're just not a team that's anywhere near ready for the big time. This morning I saw some guy out on his fishing boat on the lake and thought to myself on the third Saturday in October? But now I'm thinking why do I let this game get me all tore up like it does when that guy was actually enjoying his day.

No we need more help than this. Florida also needs to have at least 3 SEC losses.

Mizzou has to have at least 2.

If you think Florida is winning out or finishing with 2 losses, you’re saying that they will beat Georgia and LSU. Sir, may I ask what substances you are on to come to this conclusion?

Even then, say Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida all end up 6-2, Florida would have 2 division losses where Georgia and Tennessee would have 1. That would then go to the tiebreaker of head to head….. womp womp

Tennessee 6-2 / 5-1 Division
Georgia 6-2 / 5-1 Division
Florida 6-2 / 4-2 Division

I think we can forget about the east right now and focus more on consistent 4 quarters of coaching and execution

Honestly after that game yesterday, the offensive coaching and game management alone won't get us near a division title. The defense is good enough. These in game coaching blunders will continue to occur with another qb until its fixed.

1. We have to win out.

2. Georgia has to beat Florida, Mizzou has to beat Georgia

3. Mizz (or another SEC team) also has to beat Florida.

Is this correct? Thats all I can come up with.
We beat Georgia and Ole Miss beats Georgia. We are in

As far fetched as winning the east seems right now, we somehow won it in 2007 while getting embarrassingly blown out at Florida and at Alabama….

I think Ole Miss is the toughest game left on Georgia’s schedule followed by ours solely because it’s in Neyland.

This team needs to avoid any thought of bama, refs or...(snicker)... winning the east and get ready for a bloody alley fight with UK. This team is challenged in several areas and can't afford to overlook anyone on the schedule. It's a one game season. UK is all that matters.

Tennessee can still win the SEC East mathematically. We would obviously need to win out. UGA would just need to lose to Tennessee and one more SEC team.

That may be difficult, but not out of the question. UGA is not playing at the level they were last year. We would need to play much better to win out and beat UGA, but our team is much better this year on defense and in the run game. Just need the passing game to step up and get some help from another SEC team.

This team is not capable of winning East with remaining schedule. If you could bring road games to Neyland might improve chances.
