We are in the playoffs in football. Basketball will be #1 on Monday. Baseball is the defending national champs.

That's a far cry from where we were 10 years ago. 10 years ago we just beat Vandy for our first "non-losing" season in 4 years. Baseball was an afterthought and basketball had just hired Donnie Tyndall.

That whole decade was just painful, so what should it be called?

The Decade of Disaster?
The Champions of Life Era?
The Five Star Hearts Era?

It needs an official name.

A friend and I discussed this recently. I didn’t realize how bad UT has fallen in academic standards. Hopefully the new leadership can turn things around.

I don’t know. I feel like it started at halftime of the 2001 SEC championship game. Sure there were a couple of ok years in there but mostly it was just the beginning of the slide into mediocrity. The 2002 and 2005 seasons especially pissed me off.

Mike Hamilton started it...fired Fulmer, hired Kiffin with an almost non existing buyout, Kiffin leaves and he's in a rush to hire somebody considering how late it was and it was Doofus after being turned down by other coaches, my opinion at the time was put the interim HC tag on Kippy Brown and hire after the season so there was no rush and could've possibly landed a better coach

Or Hamilton could have gave in to Cutcliffe's demands about letting him bring in his own coaching staff
