So what if we don't get Gruden? I feel like half this fanbase will be devestated. We have great things to be looking forward to in our future. This team is loaded with potential and I think any great coach would love to come here. So cheer up folks and trust in Dave Hart. He is going to put us in position to win.

Yes. We must trust in Mike Hart. Wait, who is that?

Whether its Gruden or any other coach, I just want someone that will show improvement from week to week and, of course, win.

We take that $5 million per year and offer it to Chip Kelly, Bob Stoops, Jimbo Fisher and Gary Patterson.

We offer to all four at the exact same time. And tell them that the first one to say "yes", gets the job.

We could leave not have a HC and get the same results we had this year. I think we really need this hire to be huge. Although I dont think it has to be Gruden to make things happen for the better. Would he be the besst option out there? Yes. Mainly because he could get whatever recruit he wants.

The only ones setting themselves up to be disappointed are the ones trusting every rumor that says Gruden is coming. The "It's a done deal" and the "Soon" crowd are the ones being set up. They have got alot of people on here to buy into their BS. Maybe Gruden is named the next coach. If he is, noone claiming to know it now has any clue at all. They are guessing and hoping it plays out that way so they don't look like a fool. At least they have got enough people to buy into what they are saying that they won't be the only fool it it does not work out.

As much as I want it to be true, I don't think Gruden is UT bound. However, I do think UT will get it right this time, Gruden or not

Completley agree. All of the talk show Grudeites are setting themselves up for a huge let down. I honestly don't think he's coming, and with all of the hype, whoever they get instead is going to have an uphill battle pleasing the folks that were so dead set on getting Chucky.

Im just saying. I think the fanbase would go insane if we did not get him.

Yeah, I dont think he is coming either.

Yesterday, when they announced that $18 million was being redirected to the coach. It seems that everyone jumped to the conclusion that money was for Gruden.

Not so fast my friends....

I just dont think Jon, at his age, wants or needs the headaches of running a college program. End of story.

I can think of about 50 coaches I would be fine with going into 2013 with. Just about anyone upgrades this team and gives us a chance to win some games next year. If it's not Gruden, I have no problem with it at all.

+1

The money could have been to help hire Gruden. It could also have been to make the payout of the 9 million in buyouts a bit easier. The buyouts will span the next 3 years. Hmm, is the agreement not 6 million per year over the next 3 years? We'll see how it plays out I guess.

Exactly what I was trying to say in this post. We are just setting up the next coach for failure if it isnt Gruden

Jackson, you and I agree completely. Would be great for the program, but when you take the emotion out of it, it doesn't make alot of sense on his end.

So what if... we not have another JG thread...no offense OP, its just everywhere I look we have another thread about Gruden. Its Gruden everywhere!

However, to answer your original post because its a legitimate point, I completely agree. Maybe we're over emphasizing Gruden just a little bit. I think people are just ready for a home run hire that'll instantly fix everything.

Gruden already is coach sources say

Sources may say that. Those sources may want to tell the current recruiting class. We just lost our highest rated recruit to A&M. Bradley has backed off and is now looking around. Carr may be next. Give it another couple weeks with "it's already a done deal" and the new coach may come into a class of about 5 kids and 3 of those had no other SEC offers. It would make ZERO sense to hire a coach and keep it quiet this close to NSD.
