There's never "supposed to be" a surprise. That's why it's a surprise.
Some of you struggle mightily with this concept.
Well since you brought it up, I cannot help but point out that it sounds like you are the one that struggles with this concept. In addition to something that occurs without warning, a suprise is defined as the state of being astonished - which refers to a sense of amazement. Certainly, the signing of a big name recruit which we didn't expect could be cause for amazement, don't you agree?
