So who actually calls the offensive plays?

I feel like this is discussed a lot, but there's no firm answer. Is it Heup or is it Halzle?

And if it's Halzle, why in the world isn't it Heup? Our play calling is drastically different than it was 2 years ago. Also, what happened to our tempo?
It also doesn’t seem like plays are created with specific progressions! Nico seems to just stare at the primary receiver and no creativity can be implemented as the play progresses. I refuse to believe that our wide receivers simply are unable to get open. I have always been a big believer in the tight end position and our utilization of said position is atrocious.

I’ve noticed that too. He stares down who he wants to throw too and doesn’t seem to go through progressions quick enough or at all

Remember when we thought Milton was our main problem. It wasn’t

Everything is just mid
Mid play calling
Mid Wide receivers
Mid offensive line
Mid QB

On top of this not running tempo makes this offense easier to defend, In the past most of our big play touchdowns came off a 2 play progression taking advantage of the scrambling defense.

Gonna have to go back to the drawing board or next years gonna be a LONG one and people are gonna start looking for heads. The defense probably wont be good enough to carry us and no Sampson.

Whoever decided to call a speed option to the short side of the field on 3rd and 7 during the first drive of the second half deserves to be flogged.
The first down was there on that play. The offensive lineman didn’t hold the block. Much like they didn’t hold their blocks all night long.
