I wonder if reality has set in, and Bama has begin lowering their expectations to someone they have a realistic shot at.

This whole drama would make a great reality show , ranks right up there with "The Flavor of Love"....they could call it " The Shadow of the Bear".

Instead of clocks the contestants who don't want the job could hand in their houndstooth hats:hi: .

What amazes me is how Mal Moore still is saying he is looking for the best Coach for the job. I'm sorry but if you have been turned down by 2-4 Coaches already doesn't that have to affect your thinking. Their next Coach might make people forget the Bear but at this point it would be pure luck,IMO. :whatever:

Wade Phillips?
Jerry Glanville?
Barry Switzer?
Jimmy Johnson (the coach, not race car driver)?

Jimmy Johnson drives race cars? I would never have thought that his hair would fit into a helmet! :whistling:

as much as i hate bama but is it possible coachs are turning this job down due to the fact that they dont want to play in the SEC.

No because they are bammer. Who in their right mind would want to go there!
yeah, i think it has more to do with Alabama than being in the SEC.

Alabama has proven how comitted they are to their coaches over the past 10 years....the standards they have don't match what is actually capable of being acheived right now. protential hires know that.

Bama will be forced to settle for someone down on their list.

we already know they aren't going to get who they really want, so the ball is the potential new hires court.

The state bird of Alabama, the Yellowhammer, turned down the job this morning. Saw that on ESPN, I believe..

No, I'm sure any coach deserving of a shot at coaching in the SEC would love the opportunity. We're dealing with football, coaches, not cowards. Besides, coaching in the SEC is no tougher than anywhere else. Just different.

The reason everybody and their aunt is turning down Bama is because they will fire you if you lose to Auburn or Tennessee once. I'm suprised Shula stayed there that long.
