This was on Rivals about Pat Martin...any info on the rest of the article? "Greenville (SC) J.L. Mann safety Pat Martin has been favoring the Tennessee Volunteers, but informed GamecockCentral.com on Friday that things have changed. In this premium update, Martin talks about how two schools are co-leaders, plus updates his decision timetable."

he's trying to build up the hype of his announcement. he's a vol

How many commits did we have at this time last year? I really like where we are right now. It seems we have done a lot more to address needs than we did last year.

That's what a lot of these "star" gazzers don't realise, CDD is addressing need. I like where we are at too.

Martin, but I'd also look for a surprise commit from Townsend. They seem so close and he acts as if he wants to go with Martin, so, always a possibility (although not expected).

After Martin, I'd have to say our next commit could be someone like King or Gallon (if he gets the offer).

I think maybe 2 Florida kids, the TE Brandon Fulse from Fort Meade or the big DT Tim Jernigan from Lake City....Either one would be great but both would be tremendous

i'll ignore the above post.

that being said, i'm surprised to see several people mention A.J. Johnson. i hadn't heard about him for a while. does anyone know if he's seriously still considering the Vols?

Yes definitely. We are still in that race. He has visited a few times this summer on his own dime. He likes ut, fl, and clemson. A lot of people don't think fl and/or clemson has room. LV said he would probably still be a vol in the end.

He's been back to visit 3 times this summer, with the last being Saturday and Sunday right after the FNL in Gainesville. Its UT, Clemson, and UF. Our chances are good because UF wants him as a DE not a LB.

Patience is needed for the fans who follow recruiting. This ain't a sprint, its a marathon. I would agree with what LV has said all along that top 15 or better recruiting class will be on the books for 2011.

Seems as though the staff is going hard for needs, which is great to see, I remember worrying if we were going to get any OL or a QB last year.

Not worries this year, the staff is locking up their needs early which will give them flexibility and an ample amount of time to go after the higher rated players who tend to wait out the process anyhow.

Before it is all said and done, UT will fill most needs in this class and land a few big time recruits.

It is exactly what we need right now.

Agreed.

We need some more DTs
