So Who's our next 2010 commit???

Don't think for a minute that Monte would hesitate to pull the trigger on a few LBs or continue to turn UT into DBU.

With the plethera of talented RB's and WR's that signed this year... I think getting a Grade A QB and Grade A lineman is a real possibility.
If this keeps playing out the way it looks now... 2010 and definitely 2011 will be truely amazing years. (All purely hypothetical... i know rankings now mean little on the field.)

1. James Hurst
2. Blake Bell
3. James Stone
4. Markeith Ambles
5. Best DT left on the board (Whitaker/McCoy?)

I like Ronald Powell. He could be a big TE or grow into an freak DT with 20 to 30 lbs. Anyone know if we actually have a shot with him. His Rivals profile has us listed.

FWIW, right now Notre Dame guys are real confident about Hurst. So are a couple of UF guys.

Personally I buy him staying up North, but I don't know if Weiss' pathetic ass program could pull the nation's two top linemen.

I bet Myer hopes that he can.

Meyer knows we have absolutely no chance at Henderson (neither does any non-northern school outside of USC) and it's not like Meyer would be incapable if both were interested. Any good recruiter could pull it off. Honestly though, Hurst might be the only guy we leave the state for. Got Brent Benedict and Chaz Green on lock as it is.

you guys may laugh, but I fully expect Weis to tank again this year and CUM to blot for ND, esp considering that TT will be leaving.

Urb ain't going anywhere until his youngest graduates.

I believe that's 8 years from now.

good point, but he has stated that ND is his dream job. I doubt that after ND fires Weis they wont throw the US Mint at CUM.

He basically admitted he would bolt for ND once his kid left. His main thing right now is having all the talent he needs in his backyard so he isn't gone that much.

There was a radio interview from this off-season I think.

I think that ND will be forced to make a move after this year and they will come after CUM with all they have. He wont be able to turn them down.
As for our next commit, I look for it to be an instate guy.

WHOOSH!!! Did you hear that flying over your head? My point was that CUM hopes Weis lands both Henderson and Hurst, that way CUM will be able to coach them in 2010.

CUM would be stupid to go to ND... The grass isn't always greener... He's got a good thing going at UF... as much as I hate to say it, I'd rather be beating UF (soon to come I think) while CUM is there... I want him to feel the pain he's been dishing out...

I actually don't think that is too far off.

And don't think for a second he wouldn't want his kids to get a degree from Notre Dame.

Both of his daughters are in college and his son won't even be eligible to apply for like 6 more years.

What, is UF like Hotel California? .... Its called a transfer and done very often, very quickly, and very easily, especially when your Dad is the new head football coach.

And that should be ok with you, Charlie Strong can finally get his shot.
