I'll coach for just above minimun wage... I'm making $6.50 right now at crappy McDonald's... so... maybe I'll coach for $7.00/hr... heck, I'd rather coach football than work at McDonalds... I'll do it for $6.40/hr!

ok here goes in 2006 I would like to see this as my setup.
Starting QB Crompton, Ainge has been given his chances and he has FAILED. I know Crompton has not taken a snap but IMO it's his show UNTIL he proves he can't get it done. Once or Twice a game (with a lead) I would run Lucas Taylor out at QB just to throw a wrinkle in he would always run an option type play until there came a time 5-6 games into the year when he runs out VS a bama or a team like that they are looking option run and Taylor fakes the FB rolls right and hits Holbert down the left sideline.....Give him 6. :aggressive:
At RB I would start Arian Foster, and he would split the reps, 50% to Foster(15-18 carries) No more 30 carries a game stuff....we have other RB's why beat the hell out of one? and the other 50% to Hardesty and Coker...if one shows they are a better back than the other that back would get the majority of the carries behind Foster. FB I would start Holbert. On ALL 3rd and short or 4th and go for it downs...I would have my best guard that is NOT in the OL at FB.
At TE I would go with Brown and then I would look to a Freshman or maybe one of the Cottom boys. I WILL not have a TE in the game who is not a threat to catch a pass. Corey Anderson would also line up at TE on occassion.
OL ..there will be NO MORE ZONE BLOCKING BS! If the guy wants to play OL..then I need to see him take his man heads up and put him on his azz 4 yards downfield. Case Closed. IMO we don't see enough quick snaps on our team. I will bring that back. OL comes to the line Crompton says set..and the OL drives the DL off the ball....some call it 4 yards and a cloud of dust..I call it 1st downs baby.
WR... Starters would be Meachem and Smith, with Swain getting the 3rd guy when we go 3 wide. We will run some 4 and 5 wide but only when we get a lead JMO. I know that's odd to say..but it's time Tennessee football is known for that KO punch. My starting WR's will be in on 75% of all the plays. There WILL NOT be a 12 WR rotation. WR need to get in a groove just as a QB, or a RB does. After the year the Vols have had in 06 my rule would be simple...drop a pass in a game...you run 10 (100 yard sprints). Drop 2 it's 20...drop a 3rd...you will be watching a freshman take your reps.
KO return would be Morley
PR would be Heffney(I would toss in a few reverse plays and things to get the return teams excited about playing special teams.
KO coverage and P coverage I would play my starters for the most part. I would not have 11 freshman and 4th stringers on the field for what alot of people think is a break in the game.
All in all I would say I would be a 60-40 run to pass offense. If I'm playing a team I know I can throw it deep on I would do so. If I know my best chance to beat them into quiting in the 3rd quarter is to run at them 90% of the plays in the 1st half I would be more than happy to.
I'm not a coach...but this is just my thoughts. Screw the 2 Million for 60,000.00 sign me up Mike. :birgits_giggle:
