I'm not a big thread starter and there are several dozen that have been made already, but this isn't a bad loss because of a bone-headed play or two here or there.
It's a bad loss because we got outclassed in every way possible by an abysmal Florida program that cannot get out of its own way (until tonight.) The most alarming thing? Josh Heupel was out-coached by Billy Napier. Florida didn't do anything special. They ran the ball and dinked/dunked their way down the field. That's who they are. We knew that. We did absolutely nothing to stop them and got manhandled at the lines.
The secondary is abhorrent. They can't cover, they can't tackle, they won't look for the ball. Martinez and Banks probably both need to be coaching for their jobs at this point. It's not gotten any better.
I'm not sure if it's the play calling, QB decision making, or a combination of both, but the offense was behind the sticks all night.
The bubble screen stuff on 2nd and a mile for 2 yards followed by a holding call followed by a draw play on 2nd and 2 miles to set up 3rd and a country mile is physically sickening to watch. You might as well punt on 3rd down like ole boy used to do. It looks like they don't trust Milton, and if that's the case, why is he playing?

Sorry for the magnum opus. I know it's being said everywhere on here tonight, but I had to blow off some steam before I hit the sack. Hope y'all are well.

My takeaways:

Milton is not a capable SEC or Big 10 QB.

Hadden should never see the field again.

Oline is deficient.

DBs are deficient.

Martinez is below average.

Banks is trending down.

I wonder if there are locker room issues.

Do they trust the O line? Or the receivers?
I can’t see why they would.
So that kinda throws a cog in the ole playbook doesn’t it?

Think they got to start pooling like 90% of the nil money and doing it out evenly to everyone on the 2 deep or something. Willing to bet that's the source of a lot of our problems.

Not much I can disagree with here. If I was argumentative it's small talk.

So @VolFreakJosh how ya feeling about your boy Willie Martinez? I mean I know when somebody criticizes him you always say oh well players love him. Yeah well it’s on year 3 and his unit is STILL the worst on this team. At what point will you finally realize that he sucks as a coach?

The secondary cannot tackle and CWM is probably fired after this season.

Seemed like the bubble screens were to try to help with the run game because the O-line couldn’t get any push. Not sure how that’s the qb’s fault.

They don’t tackle well at all on D and the corners get beat down the sideline constantly.

The guys on the TalkinVawls broke it down the best, especially the Coach on there. Talked about how bad Milton's reads were and costing us those 2nd half timeouts. Just like on the 2 pt conversion, where Milton kept the ball. He had White wide open across the middle. It's not rocketscience how bad Milton is.

Milton didn’t play great but he’s not the reason they lost the game. We had no run game and the defense looked bad.

3 games into the season with one players only meeting in the books and another probably coming... I've learned what I already knew, Milton is a terrible QB. New thing I learned is that our coach is straight up stupid. I seriously can't believe heupel was dumb enough to keep on trotting Milton out there but he sure as **** did. Heupel surprised me with how dumb he is. Looking forward to the next coaching search.

The team that rushes for the most yards almost always wins in this series. I saw a pretty good breakdown of that a while back and with maybe one or two exceptions it was true almost every year.

We have one, he’s just not getting a chance.
No qb can play well with an oline get manhandled up the middle every single play like that. Joe played well in the 2nd half. 2-3 plays he could have done a little better but the team was robbed of a comeback. Still they shouldn’t have dug themselves in that hole including the pick Joe threw. He should have eaten a sack there.

I think the sting of losing comes after seeing a very bad Florida lose to Utah, then that team dominate us. And we all got spoiled last year watching Hooker and Co score effortlessly and had hopes that Milton could step in and repeat that. I wonder if the restrictions/penalties placed on us from Coach Cornbread recruiting hurt us. We got beat in every facet of the game
