I'm not a big thread starter and there are several dozen that have been made already, but this isn't a bad loss because of a bone-headed play or two here or there.
It's a bad loss because we got outclassed in every way possible by an abysmal Florida program that cannot get out of its own way (until tonight.) The most alarming thing? Josh Heupel was out-coached by Billy Napier. Florida didn't do anything special. They ran the ball and dinked/dunked their way down the field. That's who they are. We knew that. We did absolutely nothing to stop them and got manhandled at the lines.
The secondary is abhorrent. They can't cover, they can't tackle, they won't look for the ball. Martinez and Banks probably both need to be coaching for their jobs at this point. It's not gotten any better.
I'm not sure if it's the play calling, QB decision making, or a combination of both, but the offense was behind the sticks all night.
The bubble screen stuff on 2nd and a mile for 2 yards followed by a holding call followed by a draw play on 2nd and 2 miles to set up 3rd and a country mile is physically sickening to watch. You might as well punt on 3rd down like ole boy used to do. It looks like they don't trust Milton, and if that's the case, why is he playing?
Sorry for the magnum opus. I know it's being said everywhere on here tonight, but I had to blow off some steam before I hit the sack. Hope y'all are well.
