True, but in this game there were alot of "what ifs" -- I too hope they move on and dont dwell on it ---- UT is still a better team than UF IMO

should have pitched around her. You gotta win the game when you're up 3-0 in the 6th. Tough loss.

What we are questioning is that both HR balls were dead over the plate.

TN pitchers have a history of doing that in the late innings when the game is on the line.

Without the ability to pitch successfully when the game is on the line, TN is not going far.

Sometimes stuff happens. If you had told me we would go 3-3 against Bama and Fla I'd have taken it without playing the games.

A couple of things in this game that didn't make sense to me. In the 6th we get the first 2 batters on, no outs, and Davin is swinging away, hitting a soft liner to pitcher and doubling Akamine off 1st. Why would you not have her bunting those 2 runners over to set up 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and your 2 best hitters coming up? Now they may well have walked Chavanne to set up the force but you'd still have Gibson and Shipman up to drive them in. They are hitting 2 and 3 for a reason. We still scored 1 run so it wasn't a disaster, just didn't seem like the highest percentage play to me.

In the bottom of the 6th, after their leadoff batter reaches, the 2nd hitter starts off 0-2 and then draws a walk. With Haeger on deck you have to make the 2nd hitter earn her way on. You can nibble til the count is 2-2 but then you've got to throw the ball over the plate and let your defense make a play.JMHO

Still a fun weekend of ball.

That hitter was Kristi Merritt, and she should've struck out and it wasn't even that close. Ellen threw a ball almost directly down the center of the zone right at the knees on the pitch that walked her -- it was such a strike it looked like what would be thrown on the first pitch of the AB. The oaf of an ump called it a ball. Cheri Kempf was sounded stunned that it was called a ball.

That ump should've been relieved of his duties right there on the spot. Unbelievable.
