Beech junior CJ McClain dismissed from team for disciplinary reasons. Also mentions she was suspended for a week her sophomore season.

She was dismissed by coach Erica Powell.Interesting quote by McClain: “At this point, I feel if she doesn’t want me on the team, I won’t play.”

Hmmmm. At this point, if she's been dismissed it seems she doesn't have a choice.

Hope things turn out OK for her.

Sounds like trouble to me.....maybe the Lady Vols should consider cutting her loose and going in a different direction.

She did something "during" the game that led to her being dismissed.

Maybe an argument with the coach? Maybe unsportswoman like conduct? Maybe an argument with the umpire?

Anyway, it definately happened during the game.....

A full investigation is needed before cutting ties IMO -- some high school coaches can be egomaniacs

You can read that the High School coach kicked her off the team for undisclosed reasons. Wow, no way we want her then.

Apparently you can`t read....where did I say no way we want her? I said MAYBE they should consider it.

Yes I can read, I can read well. Which is why I know that "maybe they should consider" means "they should cut ties" 99/100 times.

As can some athletes. And apparently an investigation was done or she would not have been dismissed.

Unless they say what she did -- I dont buy it --- certainly someone in the program knows -- parents, players etc -- the coach is on a power trip IMO --- can always be some jealous parent or player, in close with the coach and AD

Seriously? She was suspended her sophomore year and dismissed her junior year. Yep, sounds like a conspiracy to me too. :ermm:

Glad to know that VN has someone that always knows what people are thinking when they post here. Next time I see a post where I am not sure about I will look you up. :good!:

No, it's a public school in Hendersonville, suburb of Nashville.

Seems then transfer rules are different in Tennessee - did she go from a private (Brentwood Academy) to public school ? Rule is vice versa in Illinois because private/Catholic schools recruit players. Anyone know why she transferred ? That could maybe shed a little light on the incident.

In Tennessee no one is suppose to recruit players, but I have heard about private schools recruiting. Brentwood Academy got caught in football about 15 years ago and they sued to have the penalties thrown out, and tthe legal battle ended up at the US Supreme Court.

I believe she transferred to Beech because its closer to her home, she is zoned to go to Stratford which is a public school in Nashville. I also live in Sumner County, where Beech is, and we do have an open enrollment policy. Beech also does have a very good softball program and have had girls sign to play at D1 schools.

Grace Christian got caught just a few years ago in both football and basketball. It happens all the time, they just don't always get caught.
