on the cusp of the SEC season? It's a pretty weak group for a tournament.

Good report, Jeff. I think this will be a rebuild year for the team, given how young it is.

Neither of these teams were very good today. I think we have better pitching than hitting. Any time we go up against a good pitcher we don't hit much.

I think we'll be 16 and 3 after this home stand. I can't see us losing to any of these teams.

That's good that means that no one has an excuse. Tennessee uses the indoor facility and have their own indoor hitting facility as well. Really nice place, that's why a lot of kids go there.....you ever see Cal's or Mizzou?? Not that great.

Those teams practice in domes....I know UNI does and Illinois has access to one that the Chicago Bandits use

That Indiana State pitcher is hot. Hope they don't knock her out too soon. Also, Aldrete looks different than last year. Her stance looks different and she isn't talking to herself like before. She needs to go watch some old film.

I think the reason Ralph schedules these games is because it is not easy to get the better teams to come to Knoxville. If you want any pre-season home games then you have to take who you can get. I bet this is about the best he can do.

Gabriel's pitching looks much better this year. Her change up is killer. She has about 5 or 6 pitches.

He schedules them to make the team play a lot of games in a row to make them play under duress and fatigue.

I have to think teams like Mich, Fla, and Auburn are certainly playing lots of games in a row, on the road, different time zones, and playing top 10 teams. To me that's the definition of duress. Fla. Pitcher (freshman, Ocasio). Pitched two full games in 3 days. Their 26-0, I think Auburn has lost one or two. Tenn. Can't do anything about the weather, but didn't they stay out west last year and year before. Last years team had a lot of freshman starters too (Geer, Koenig, Aldrete, Geathers), and they stayed on the road and actually did well. I know some don't want to hear this but...I think the coaches will adjust the schedule year to year in order to keep that career winning percentage close to where it's at, especially with out of conf. JMO.

I get that we may not be able to get good teams to come here just before the regular season starts--but we play in a tough conference, and I can't believe that it helps much to play third-tier teams like North Dakota State and Northern Iowa. The coaches should at least try to schedule second tier teams. Maybe they've tried. Koenig has been carrying this team with her power--she's been super. I can see this young team struggling in the SEC this year.

I think it is a little of both. Some teams don't want to come here and Ralph likes teams that he can use to pad the win column.

Another run rule game Tennessee 8 Purdue 0 final.Record to 15 and 3. Next game versus Indiana State again. That should be a five inning game as well.

Tennessee 12 Indiana State 0 in five innings. It could have been worse we scored seven in the first inning.
