Softball to host regional and super regional

Any idea if our hosted games will be televised? Want to go but don't want to go all three days unless I have really good seats.

Saw something on the SEC Network this morning saying that some TN games would be on ESPN3. I have a login problem with that. I'm not able to see those games on ESPN3 or WatchESPN. Hope this will change by the time the games roll around for my benefit.

Guys, to sit here and have expectations that they will walk through the regional or the super is just plain foolish. They could easily lose in the regional. These are good teams. Just enjoy it. These girls are going to play hard. Enjoy it for what it is. Not what you want it to be.

:cray: I'll enjoy the TN games till we lose the lead & then the game like the one we had w/Auburn. Then I'll just have to wait for next year.

Friday's games are ESPN3. I can find no TV schedule for Saturday or Sunday's games other than TBD.

There are no bad seats in Sherri Parker Lee stadium.

...IMO they will walk through the regional with that schedule...

Utah has already beaten the LV's this season. Va Tech is a perennial tournament team. If the LV's make it to the supers they will face most likely either Florida State - who has a better record and a better RPI than the LV's and had a legitimate claim to an 8 seed - or SC, which took the season series from the LV's - or UCF, which has a better record than the LV's and a 15 RPI. I hope it's a cakewalk, but I doubt it.

We are set up much better this year than years past though. And you can't honestly believe Utah would beat us again. Could they? Sure. Will they? Probably not. We have a much better team now than a month ago, thanks to the tough close and putting some games together, along with finding our ace.

There could be a lot of SEC teams in Oklahoma City this year. I think both Missouri and GA have legitimate shots.

I don't disagree. No Oklahoma, No Alabama. But I can't characterize it as a cakewalk. The LV's are too young and the pitching still too iffy for anybody to buy tickets to the WCWS. But you are right - the LV's are a much better team now than when Utah beat them in Palm Springs.

Here are the innings pitched by the LV staff in Baton Rouge:

Erin Gabriel 16.1
Rainey Gaffin 10.2
Gretchen Aucoin 2.1
Cheyanne Tarango 0.1

Aucoin and Tarango should be well rested! I look for them to get some innings this weekend.

My eight are Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Oregon, Missouri, Georgia, Oklahoma.

Wouldn't be surprised if Alabama was there in place of Oklahoma--just like Oklahoma there because I can't see Lauren Chamberlin ending her career in a Super Regional. Also think you've gotta give Arizona a shot against LSU the way the Tigers have been playing down the stretch.

Its just my opinion. They will walk through the regional. There is NO ONE in that regional that has close to the talent Tennessee does. Unless Gabriel falls off drastically I believe they get to Oklahoma City[/B]. The Super is looking good for them also. Tennessee is peaking....Utah is not. Florida St. is the only one in their way and even they don't have the talent Tennessee does. The toughest regionals right now are LSU, LLU, UCLA. And Alabama probably has a tough game against Wash. Fla and Okla have an easier route as well.

The only way I see us not going to the WS, is because we're young and they're not consistent enough yet. McSwain seems to have an error a game. We do have a good team though. CJ's drop against Auburn was a freak accident and we should have won that game. Hopefully, they pitch Tarango and Aucoin against Longwood and they can pick up some confidence while resting Gabriel. I really loved how our batters went through after their first AB and made HUGE adjustments. That's the main reason I think we get to the series along with Gabriel's new founded form. We're definitely in good shape with this team for a couple years.

We'd be even stronger if Aucoin learned the most fundamental aspect of pitching--throwing strikes. Our pitching is thin because the coaches smartly decided using her, for the most part, as her constant wildness was causing us to fall behind too often and hurting the team. Dropping her from the rotation is one reason why we performed well at the SEC Tourney.

The games aren't played on paper and anything can happen. But, I hope you are correct.

If I was betting its-Oregon, Florida, Mich, Tenn, UCLA, Bama, Auburn, LSU. Then I believe Tennessee will get Florida again in the WCWS first game...I think. Once you arrive in Okla. City things change. The current favorites are Oregon and Mich. But the SEC has alot of tough teams that can easily beat them.

The ESPN commentators Jessica Mendoza and Michele Smith both picked Florida to repeat. I really think it's Florida's to lose. They defeated both Oregon and Michigan in the regular season. The only team they played this season they didn't defeat at least once was Tennessee!
