Lady Vols are at Tenn Tech Today for a fall softball game @ 6pm Central.

Saturday & Sunday, the Lady Vols are in Bowling Green to play Evansville, Western Kentucky & Eastern Kentucky..

Next weekend, The Lady Vols will be hosting a fall tournament at Sherrie Parker Lee Sadium....

Good Luck to the team! Play well and stay injury free!!!

Mel Brown singles in Maddi Shipman for 1-0 lead (shipman 3 for 3, 2 runs)

Mel Davin singles in Lauren Gibson for 2-0 lead (Davin 2 for 3)

TTU scores 2 in bottom of 6th for 2-2 tie

Hannah Akamine doubles in Shipman for 3-2 lead

Lexi Overstreet Pinch Hitting, Sac Fly (first at bat) to score Akamine to finish scoring 4-2 lead...

Lady Vols beat Evansville 6-2 earlier today and is currently beating Western Michigan 7-1... Melissa Davin & Hannah Akamine both with 3 run homers. Lexi Overstreet homered in the 6-2 victory. :dance2:

2 good games. My daughter got Melissa's autograph at the game. She was so excited. And, if I recall correctly, she had an opposite field bomb of a home run

Lady Vols win Today 14-6 against EKU playing at WKU.

The Vols had a 7-1 lead and make pitching change going into top of 4th.... the LV's give up 5 runs on a couple hits,

with the game 7-6, the Vols score 2 on a squeeze and a couple hits, to make it 9-6...

the LV scores 3 on a 3 run homer by dotson and added 2 more with a 2 run rbi single by gibson...


Don't have the line scores but bats were pretty good...

The Lady Vols will host a Fall Tournament next weekend in Knoxville.

Lady Vols win 2 games Today... beat Chattanooga State 6-0 and Lee Univ 6-1.

Ivy pitched game 1 and struck out 14 batters. Melissa Davin had a 1st inning home run, Lady Vols add 4 runs in the 2nd and add another run on a sac fly. (Sorry dont have details... twitter wasn't going and relying on text messages to follow game)

Erin Gabriel started game 2, allowed a first inning run and went 4.2 innings. Chey Tarrango relieved. Melissa Davin hit her second homer of the day, a 2 run shot in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead. Shipman scores on Melissa Brown's sac bunt. Dotson tripled followed by Davin's double to make it 4, Davin stole third and scored on Tarrago's single to make it 5. Mel Brown scores the 6th run on Freshman Rainy Griffin

Melissa Davin was 3 for 6 & base on Balls, 2 homers, double, 4 rbi, stole 3rd twice, scored 4 times over the two games.... so far for the 6 game fall, batting 13 for 22, 3 home runs and 11 rbi... and she is a great kid!!

Lady Vols win Sunday's games 5-0 vs Chipola and 8-0 over Milligan.

Hitting and pitching went prety well this weekend. We are still making some mistakes but should be worked out by the spring... Freshman got a chance to play...

Melissa seeing the ball well and for the most part hitting the ball hard and in play.... she went 3 for 4 against Chipola... Center fielder made a Tory Lewis type catch to deny Mel extra bases. Mel went 1 for 4 against Milligan... Line out and a couple hard smashes for outs... I can't complain about hard hit balls..... she's not going to get them all...

She is also getting a chance to run some this year... stole second and scored on a hit yesterday, stole 3rd twice on Saturday.... she is recovering from her jacked up knee from last spring... partial tear of the patella tendon & Knee cap bone bruise....and some idiot football fan stepped on her foot at the Florida game and bruised her instep and toes... she had to wear a walking boot for the last few weeks... always something:crazy:

edit: Kat Dotson had a home run and a few RBIs Sunday... there should be an update this week by UT Softball and I will post the link when available..

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Poised for another run at the Women's College World Series, the Tennessee softball team got a glimpse of what its 2013 squad will look like over eight fall games this month. The Lady Vols wrapped fall play this past weekend with four wins in the Tennessee Fall Classic, pushing the team's October record to a perfect 8-0.

Tennessee batted .372 as a team over its eight contests and its pitchers combined for a 1.30 ERA.

"This is an offensive-minded conference," Tennessee co-head coach Ralph Weekly said. "Pitchers, then hitters, win games. Karen and I were pleased with both components, but know we have a lot of work to do. We have a veteran team, but play one of the very toughest schedules in the SEC. Now is the time to work hard and put the hay in the barn."

At the Tennessee Fall Classic, UT outscored its opponents, 25-1. On Saturday, the Lady Vols shut down 2012 NJCAA Division I National Champions Chattanooga State, 6-0, and posted a 6-1 win over Lee later that afternoon. Tennessee had two shutouts on Sunday, defeating Chipola, 5-0, and Milligan, 8-0.
