Firstly, thanks to CalifLVfan for the information she posts.

Now for the questions; What positions did Davin and Brown play during the Fall games and what players saw time behind the plate? Also, how did the newcomers look?

Thanks in advance.

CalifLadyVolFan is Mel's Dad.... he not she..:hi:

Mel Davin was coming off a foot injury and mostly played DP the first weekend with 1 game at first. She played first all 4 games this past weekend and a little outfield. Chey Tarrango played 1st, pitched and played DP both weekends. Mel loves outfield but is going to play where Ralph wants her.... I suspect first with limited outfield

Mel Brown played third base with Raven out for the fall recovering from shoulder surgery and played some in left field. Anna Renfroe got some time at third @WKU weekend. I suspect Mel B to be in the lineup somewhere... 1st, outfield or DP

Hannah Akamine and Lexi Overstreet shared time behind the plate, both had big moments, offensively and defensively... throwing out runners trying to steal a base or laying down a bunt or big hits or rbis..

Rainy Gaffin and Hannah Tobler (NorCal) played some time in the oufield.. made plays and had some good at bats. Tobler threw ou a runner a home @ wku weekend and both had hits.

Pitching was pretty good excep for a couple rough innings first weekend out @ WKU.. not sure if rust or tough time trying to find the umpire's strike zone and a couple hit batters... I believe EKU scored 5 in an inning to tie game 6-6 before LV put game away...I was relying on text messages, videos sent and twitter for my info provided.... of course the twiter information is available on Lady Vol Softball Twiter... link provided.

After seeing the LV softballers in person I suggest everyone get out to see them up close and in person. They are a very talented bunch and television does'nt do them justice.

If and when you do go I suggest watching the coaches as well as the players, there's a lot of strategy going on in what many of us think is a simple game.

I'll be seeing them in February out here in Utah. Red Desert Classic in St. George.

We will be at these two tournaments at the beginning of the season... I'll be taking pics and updating Volnation.... not sure what other games that I will be able to watch in person.... until after tax season...

My wife usually goes to knoxville for a week during March for the Tennessee Classic but no Tennessee tournament in Knoxville this year so she will be looking for other dates with the most home games.

Don't know what we would do without all the games on TV ,on UT video streaming and the Volnation Radio Network.... Ha HA, we even subscribe to the other teams webcast when we can't watch the games on TV or UT Video stream.... a Dad has to do what a Dad has to do.... never missed a game until she went to UT... but I am OK sharing her with you!!

Go Vols!
