Some Backstory for LG on Limbaugh and the GOP

Well the WSJ proves at least that hal didn't make billions as claimed by the media.

Many years ago, I was a writer for an industry report on health care policy and finance in Florida. Every weekend, I did a little segment on a Miami radio show, and I recall one time when I repeated what I'd been told by a hospital lobbyist, who represented the interests of not-for-profit hospitals.

There are two kinds of not-for-profit hospitals: Not for profit, and not for obvious profit.

Trust me, Halliburton did just fine.

put up or shut up.

if you're going to make the allegation, have the stones to prove it

I hope you're this willing to explore the relationship between Obama and General Electric, but something tells me you lack the intellectual honesty.

I lack the time.

sure. It's easier to parrot mediamatters and MSNBC isn't it?

Common sense that an outfit as seasoned as Halliburton does not cut back room deals so as to go out and lose money, especially on the scale we are talking about here.

Besides, droski was the one who initially posited that they lost money, which I would want to see some authoritative and unbiased proof on.

once again, prove it. You're a lawyer making an accusation that you have yet to prove.

even the smartest companies make mistakes.

As I say, find me someone unbiased who says that, overall, in its entirety, they lost money, and I'd be impressed.

But I don't think anyone out there without an agenda is going to be saying that, just as you believe that media such as MSNBC are going to inflate the profits.

you mean the billions that haliburton lost on their iraq contracts?

You really believe that Halliburton overall lost money on the Iraq contracts?

once again, prove it. You're a lawyer making an accusation that you have yet to prove.

MG, droski is the one who made the claim that they lost billions. That is counter-intuitive to me. And in fact it appears that he is modifying that to say, not that they lost money, but that their profit margin was smaller than you might expect. (which means they made money)

Even after you quoted an article that says they made money, just at a lower percentage than other operations?

that article was 5 years old. i'm looking for a up to date one that doesn't involve me posting KBR's financial statements (which you wont read).

regardless, the unholy alliance between Obama, Jeffery Immelt and General Electric is going to make Haliburton look like a model of transparency.

I haven't the foggiest. I also haven't the time or the inclination to go research it.

But the notion that Cheney and the big guns at Halliburton lost money, on the whole, in Iraq is utterly absurd.
why? Depends entirely on the type of contract and their ability to deliver as contracted.
