Butch Davis has been sucking it up in N.C. It looks like he may well end up with a record like ours in a year when a whole lot more was expected of him.

This helps us with TJ Leifheit who will almost definitely end up here or there.

Ron Zook is sucking it up in Illinois. We actually have some good relationships in Illinois with this staff (may relate at least somewhat to Cregg's success in the Big 10) and with Fulton and Milton we have a good little contingent from a talent rich state. With Zook out of the picture after this year possibly, the state becomes much easier to recruit. We just better pray he does not end up in the SEC recruiting for a rival.

Al Groh is terrible. Despite beating UNC he will almost surely be fired this year. Morgan Moses will come to UT rather than follow Latrell Scott.

FSU is down. Miami being up hurts Gran's efforts a bit, but FSU being as down as they are gives us an outside shot with some kids we would have no chance with if they were doing great.

If we beat UGA, Memphis, Vandy and Kentucky we could very well end up with a #1 class.

Ending with new commits from Elam, Cullen, James, Moses, Leifheit, 4* RB (Dyer, Bernard, etc.) could put us in that slot.

Pair decommiting and Broussard decommitting and being replaced by more highly ranked players will certainly get us that top spot.

Still really want Luc, but would be thrilled with Josh Shirley which is still very possible. Still want Quarles to switch.

Some good things are happening in recruiting even while bad things are happening on the field. Only 3 more months until a whole bunch of fresh talent joins the team as EE!

Yes all of those teams are "down", but we haven't exactly been amazing either...I assure you other fan bases are saying the same thing about us.

I still think we pull several of the guys you mentioned though

I'm sure people were saying the same thing about Fulmer last year. You just don't know what is going to happen this far away from signing day.

I don't think it matters who is down or what with the staff we have. These guys are going to recruit. That shouldn't be in doubt. Look at what they have done at other places. The sky is the limit with this group. We are gonna see classes we haven't seen since the Manning days....

Look at the recievers we have now. Milton, Ambles, Cobbs, Meline, more to come...

I am telling you. If they can't do anything they can recruit and it will not be every other year. They are going to bring elite talent to knoxville. Enjoy the ride.

I want to see Tn be sucessful, but not because other teams are not... I do not want to enter into any victory through the back door , and anyone who is a competitor would say the same. I want all the teams in the SEC to not only be good, but to be great and I want the Vols to beat them. I want all the places we go to, to have the best recruiters in the game and I want ours to take their player from them. We are Tennessee and we do have to take a back seat to anybody either on the field or in recruiting and we don't need someone else to have problems in order for us to have success

Now WOULD be a good time to put the full court press down on Hurst. Other than a TE over at illinois, there really isn't another player on any of the three teams that we would be interested in I wouldn't think.

+ Oh and Johnnie Farms...sure wouldn't mind seeing him in orange!

I read somewhere on a post where somebody said that the UF D coordinator might leave UF.

He has been trying to get a HC job for 3 years now. Hes got the credentials to land a job but apparently he comes off very demanding and gruff in interviews and thats why he hasnt gotten one yet. AFAIK he hasnt even made a finalist list of any teams yet hes so bad.

I would not doubt one bit that Strong will be coaching else where next year. I think he is probably the best DC out there looking for a HC job. With the amount of Talent leaving Fl next year he will understand now is his time to punch his ticket. I would not doubt one bit that he ends up at a big time school. This would help us tremendously with Luc. Lets keep our fingers crossed that he does leave. GO VOLS

Naw, that's just the Mayans...and they're already extinct. You can thank the Spaniards and European diseases for that. I love latinas, though, so thank goodness for the Spanish conquistadors mixing w/ the locals!
