These from KUsports.com's board...I'm actually reading very little negative stuff here, they seem to be viewing the loss largely as an opportunity in terms of motivation:

"I wonder who feels worse... the Jayhawks players or the four idiot Tennessee players who learned that their team is gonna be just fine WITHOUT them!"

"Not only that, but Tennessee's fans did not storm the court.
When is the last time KU got beat on the road and the court stayed clear?"

"Bruce Pearl had his team ready to play today. If they can keep playing with the same intensity, they'll do well. Thing is... I'm pretty sure we just got the best game Tennessee is capable of."

"I'd rather take a loss like that to a team rallying for a reason, than some just some fluke playing out of their minds team."

"I'm sure we will continue to get most team's best possible game. We are the game most other teams circle on their schedule.
Tennessee got it done today where most teams don't."

"Yeah, it had that "perfect storm" feeling--and when you're caught up in one of those it's damned near impossible to get out of it."

"The loss doesn't actually sting like they typically do. I credit some of this to the fact that Tennessee played all out and left everything they had on the floor. Hopefully our team will display the same level of intensity that the Vols did today. Congrats Rocky Top."

"I totally agree with that, right on the money! UT out-played us, period. They were well prepared, and very much wanted this victory. We we unable to take it from them.
I will say this however, and this is what I do like about this game: KU will get more out of it than UT. This is just what we needed."

"They reminded me of Calipari's Memphis offense ... dribble, drive, dish. We simply didn't have any defenders who could stay in front of their man, mostly.
Of course they did pull some (or many) 3s out of the arses today, too. That didn't help.
And screw that midget walk-on who drilled that pathetic shot at the end!"

"yeah a good win for some good fans...didnt even rub it in the face of us Jayhawks that made the trip....speaking of I was less than impressed with our numbers there ...but even 1500 KU fans get lost in a sea of 20000 Vol fans....their fans showed up bigtime....."

"I thought we bought into fools gold. The suspensions resulted in our players being overconfident."

"I know this has been said in other ways, but this big win on national tv was almost like a reward for Pearl for doing the right thing regarding T. Smith & the other 3 players. I hate to see KU lose anytime but the sting is not as bad this time for me."

They seem to not like Skylar that much. Midget walkon>? Really?

KU fans seem pretty classy, except for the guy who dogged out McBee. And that midget put a dagger in KU's heart by the way.

I liked these the best. Statements like these from fans of other schools make me proud to be a Vol.

Agree. Kansas was classy in defeat. I think we might have stormed the court if we were'nt so stunned at would just took place.

Sound like some really classy fans. Wish we could swap them for Bama and Gator fans.

Thing is, we could have played a much better game. Bobby Maze looked otherworldly, but other than that there were a lot of things we could have done better.

This is by far my favorite quote.

I have a KU buddy from college who is a sports columnist/author in KC. He replied to an e-mail I sent him on Saturday and he predicted the Vol win based on CBP's ability to motivate and prepare his teams. If anything, KU fans are very knowledgable and from reading their posts, pretty realistic about how the game played out.

The students tried, but they had stacked two layers of cops and security guys that beatdown the tip of the spear.

In front of the standing section, one of the fat yellow-jacketed guys got punched in the face by a student, then very quickly subdued by multliple cops.

In our best possible game we would have hit 70+ % of our free throws instead of 51% and our two starters, Chism and Prince, would have been on the floor for 60+ minutes instead of 33. Without the foul trouble and poor free throw shooting, we could have beaten this team by 15+ in a "best possible" scenario.

That said, it's hard to imagine Chism playing any better than Hall did against CA. That was some magnificent defense.

yea i wish everyone would understand that we were talking about storming the court with 5 mins left in the game. we damn well tried our hardest but the cops looked like we just committed a terrorist act and/or the president was standing on the power T in the middle of the court. it was ridiculous, oh well if we beat an undefeated UK team at home we will have to try again :)

I understand the urge, but we look a lot better when we don't storm the court.

yea totally agree with you in hindsight.

but, look at it at the standpoint of a student. how often do you get to beat the #1 team at home? and we were students during the era that the game took place. perfect time to do it but youre right it stung KU a bit and made it look like a bit less of a big deal which is awesome!

JMO, but I think the UT program has progressed to the point where our fans should not storm the court b/c they beat a highly ranked team. Sunday's victory was an exception b/c of all the distractions and suspensions. If we are to be seen as a top ten program, then beating another top ten program at home should be viewed as a big win but not a Miracle on Hardwood.
