I know right now is not the best time, because we just lost a game that in all honesty we should have won. However, for all you calling for coach Pearl's head I think you have forgotten our past and really our present. Think of where we were before he arrived and better yet think of who would replace him. Do you really think we will get anyone better? I love the Vols but the fact is were not a basketball destination for top coaches. Are there better coaches than CBP? Sure there are, but how many of them are going to come here? Just something to think about.

I agree, we have some fairweather fans on this message board, I am sick of it. We just lost by 1 point due to poor free throw shooting and phantom foul calls that put Erving Walker on the line all game. We will win 5/6 regular season games, then win 1-2 in the SEC tournament, then head TO OUR 6TH STRAIGHT NCAA tournament.

Also, you live in Houston and go for the Lakers and Duke. You're the definition of a fairweather fan.

You just deal with a loss by calling everyone fairweather. I applaud you for how much better you are than everyone else. Good job for seeing how losing to UF is a good thing for UT.

We're not fairweather fans. We're fans who are sick of this consistent bull**** we continue to spew on the court. This team has not improved at all.

What people fail to realize is that there are other coaches out there who can win games for us. Pearl isn't the end all be all of coaching.

I'm with ya Jay! It's amazing what a loss will do to the message boards. Tennessee will will not do any better than Bruce. I really think we've been lucky to keep him this long. The guy can recruit and motivate. Yes I said recruit. What he did isn't nearly as bad as what other coaches around the country do. I would bet money that a lot worse is going on at other schools.

Yeah a place that just built top-notch facilities and has a good recruiting base isn't a place where coaches would want to be. Get out of here with that garbage. Bruce Pearl is far from irreplaceable.

Sure miss the "contolled chaos" days. This half court crap isnt cuttin it. Yeah we made it to the Elite 8 I know, but who's to say we couldn't have made it with chaos too.

He can recruit? So why are Kenny Hall, Maymon, and Swiperboy going to be our only guys in the post next season if Harris leave? And with Chris Jones's problem - why will Golden be our only option at the point. He's done a terrible job at getting true big men and especially PGs. We've started JuCo PGs the past 3 seasons and the position has been a disaster every season but his first since he inherited CJ.

UNA Vol, I agree we will lose to a high seeded team or a 1-3 seed in the first or second round because we are going to have a really tough bracket, since we will probably be a 7 or 8 seed. Also, I meant we have some fairweather fans, so I apologize I made that comment too broad.

I'm from Chapel Hill, NC and grew up a Duke fan my entire life. If you have any idea how tough that was I think you would take back your comment calling me a fairweather fan because I like Duke. I've been a Duke fan my entire life, before they ever won a national championship, or had national respect like they do today.

Even more crazy are the people who continually pretend that UT was a SWAC level-program before Pearl got here and will be after he leaves.

Look at our past man! Tennessee is not a basketball school. Bruce came in and has built Tennessee to a respectable program. He got T. Harris to come here out of Syracuse country. He got Hopson to come here from Kentucky. It's not easy to get players to come here in a football dominated school. We've went deeper in the NCAA tourney with Bruce than ever before. What's wrong with using JC point guards? I bet you thought Bruce was awesome back when we beat Pitt and Nova.

And Kentucky gave us Scotty Hopson btw without fight - but you probably don't pay attention to basketball outside of game days to actually know that.
