for disappointment. We lost a game, at home, to a team that lost 4 starting offensive skill guys, DURING THE GAME. And it was a game that you could argue we had some great breaks go our way (special teams score, UGA hitting the goal post)

I'm only saying this because this could and should be a momentum builder-but if people start expecting too much (see NC State last year) the subsequent meltdowns will derail that. Just my two cents after sleeping on it (and getting drunken messages all night from other vols haha)

The team that played yesterday played with heart, courage and determination. They played like true Volunteers and gave their all for Tennessee. Sorry you couldn't see that.

I agree. I do think we have a great chance to beat South Carolina, but that doesn't mean we will win out or even have a chance against Allerbubba. People should view this game as a great preview for what will happen once we have some depth and talent.

georgia was ripe for defeat yesterday--coming off a big home win and with all the injuries. It shows that we still have a lot of issues. I think we are becoming more competitive--but we've got to win a freakin' big SEC game.

You might be right, But we have a right to enjoy the way these boys played last night and you are just robbing us and these kids of that. GTFO

How exactly do you get that from my post?

Thing is, you can't deny, it was a big step in the right direction.

That said, Dooley came close to plenty of big wins and never could close the deal. Let's hope that this is something this staff actually builds on, and Butch has something more than a "signature loss" by the end of the year.

So what do you think we should do? Just say we suck because if we don't we might be disappointed or we might not be able to set back and smugly say I told you so at every turn?

I have had enough of hearing about the injuries to Georgia's "4 key players" and that being the reason we came back from 14 down and just about pulled off the upset!!! The Dawgs are no. 2 total over the past 10 years in recruiting and are at least 5 deep in the depth chart and have been for 6 years now easy, seems like everybody forgets how many true Freshmen we are playing and if I am not mistaken that 3rd string RB for Georgia had well over a hundred yards rushing!!! The point is Team 117 played hard and was well coached and well prepared for Georgia, and with a few breaks and some not so great calls from the refs on the last Georgia drive in regulation we would have pulled out the win..

I now understand what the coaches see in Worley. This must be what practice looks like everyday. Keep it up young man and we have a chance to win some games.

I agree to the point that South Carolina is a big game for this program. We need to see the team that played the second half versus Georgia. No doubt were getting better but still have a ways to go so we need to make another leap in two weeks versus SC.

I seriously don't want to hear the bull**** about competing w a Georgia team only because of their injuries. All teams have injuries and you deal with it. Teams like UGA always have talent waiting in the wings. It really doesn't damper the excitement of what I saw on the field last night.

a bunch of georgia fans on the ajc blogs are blaming the close game on injuries and "getting hosed" by the refs -- funny stuff
