$60,000 question:

How much housecleaning occurs for the returning players from Team 117?

The incoming freshmen have bought in. If some returning players haven't similarly bought into Butch and the process, there could be some chemistry issues next year. I hope there is minimal turnover, but after last night I wouldn't be surprised if some players lost some of their faith in the staff.

On the opposite end, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the coaches don't tell some of the players they might want to transfer to Carson Newman or be ready to ride the pine because we're bringing in players that are going to take your job. ( hello secondary)

Two things I'm very confident in. First you are a loser and you are wrong about Team 118.

I think we might need to prepare ourselves about next year. While it is promising that we have a strong incoming class, winning seasons are not built on the shoulders of true freshman. I hope we are better second year in a system, but we will still have an abundant amount of talent without experience and experience without talent.

Our schedule should be much more manageable next year.

I think with all the turnover in the trenches 7-5 will be a good coaching job next season. 9-3 or better is definitely possible in 15 if recruiting stays top 10. SEC EAST in 16. Gotta believe guys. There really is no other option. Half my wardrobe and all of my soul is orange. Wouldn't have it any other way. GBO VFL

You are so right. Can't believe people are still arguing against it. Can't get better with Butch still coaching. Gonna need a real coach, not some cinci loser

I'm pretty sure by definition he would be considered a Cinci winner.

Have you looked at the schedule? We could very well have two out of conference losses. Oklahoma will be a very tough game to win. And Utah State will not be a push over, especially if we see the type of play we did last night.

First of all, I love next years freshman class but if you all honestly think that true freshman are going to make us any better in one season you all are crazy. I believe Butch will get it turned around, but no chance that it gets any better next year.

If they could sign about 75 players that'd be good. Virtually turn the whole roster over.... there might, MIGHT be 10 players on the current team worth keeping.

But then again, I'm not certain we have the right coaches, starting with Jones. Perhaps he can follow the Fulmer model.... have far superior talent than most teams you play so that coaching/scheme/adjustments doesn't matter except vs the very best teams, that way you win 9-10 games a year. Just grasping at straws at this point.

You should not be allowed to keep your name with such a negative attitude.

Why? For speaking the truth? IF Jones is able to get this program turned around, which at this point is a very big IF, it will not be next year, when he will, and should, play a helluva lot more freshmen starters than this year. I don't see him being overly negative with that statement. It in all reality is just the plain, unfortunate truth.

Because the freshman starters we are getting are some of the most talented in the country - so if you can make a definitive statement that we arent going to improve with some of the best talent coming in and another year to work on the playlist - you clearly are not a fan of this team.

When you say it like that .... it doesn't seem so ... negative .... that actually ... almost makes sense ...

Wait ... you can't make sense on here ... Shame on you!!!

Freshman do not win football games in the SEC. It doesn't matter how much talent they have. It is going to take time.

LSU, UGA, Bama, etc have recruiting classes like ours every year and yet only the truly elite ones even see the field, because they aren't ready. I don't see what is so difficult to understand about this.

I'm very excited for this class and I do think we will have a better team in the next year or two, but I hope someone lets these kids know early on that talk is cheap and they have to out work everyone everyday and prove it on Saturday!
