When Urban has all of his players (like Tebow) I think the spread will give us fits, just like the option has in the past. We have tendency to over run plays. UT flys to the ball and that can hurt you at times with reverses and misdirection, which Myer seems to love.
The thing about the spread option is that contrary to the triple option out of the flexbone (or other base formations), is that the spread option seems to get up field quicker than the wide option. Obv. there are plays in either playbook that would be different, but mostly, it seems like a true spread option has the backs turn upfield tighter on the tackles' hips than the regular option which stretches out.
Tennessee, conceivably, should be able to defend the spread option better than the old style, due to being almost unable to overrun the spread option ... options.
Does that make sense?
