Something is amiss.

We’re in the hunt for the playoffs and this is what we do. This loss is on everyone on the coaching staff and every player on the roster. The team seemed disinterested in playing a football game today and this baffles me. Do we have locker room issues or something? I just can’t wrap my mind around this performance against a mediocre South Carolina team with so much on the line.
Told my husband last night, it looks like a problem in locker room.

The NIL beat us last night and I think almost everyone could see that something like this was going to happen, just not to the extent of 63 points given up. When the NIL was first presented I had the feeling this could ruin college football. There will be other issues of this in the coming few years.

If rumors are true, you could have a point. Still TBD if those rumors are true. We may never know for sure.

For arguments sake, assuming rumors are true....seems as though the natural progression of NIL would be to make it to the locker room. A QB maybe receivers are likely always going to be in better positions of receiving most NIL attention. Then you got other starters, these people are going to the NFL, yet can't get some of the same $$$ other positions are receiving. After a while, hurt feeling, jealousy show it's ugly head. I figure that's why so many hit the transfer portal looking for other schools that might have more money available. I don't know how you stop the inner rot of college football without a reasonable cap on earnings.

UGA scored 27 points on this defense... 27! And last night we get TORCHED? J. Banks was, is, and probably always will be a thug and a cancer on this program. But what I saw last night cannot be called an "off-night." The locker room stuff affected this team to the point that they didn't care to play. The portal/NIL mess has got to be dealt with by the league and NCAA. Will it? I don't know, but, having had season tickets since 1967 and going to bowl games, we just witnessed a team quit. UNACCEPTABLE.

Well, I'm not going to say you're right or wrong about Banks. What I will say, it would take one hell of a person to not get jealous, hurt feeling what ever you want to call it, and not take it to the locker room. Banks has been a force to be reckoned with on this team. It has to hurt feelings knowing you've did a great job, yet primarily because other positions get more attention, they get the $$'s. I made mention to my husband that Mercedes Hooker was just placed in was going to cause conflict, how can it not? Now, Heupel is in a position of having to deal with it. He had better surround himself with people that will offer thoughtful, measured opinions and try his best to remedy this rot called the NIL before it ruins the entire team.
