was all the Vol fans leaving with like 10 minutes left in the game. I mean, it's our last game of the season, last game for these seniors and probably a few underclassmen. I know people want to try to beat the traffic, but come on. I drive 4 hours to get to Knoxville and I stay the whole game. I wanted to sit in there and finally soak in an SEC victory. Maybe it's just me.

I never understand the mentality of leaving early unless you live in town or have a really nice tailgate outside. I don't get the "beat the traffic" brigade.

at least they were there.

can't leave early unless you are there to start with.

having said that, i never understand leaving early either. you pay good money to see the game and get there, i am getting my money's worth. especially this circumstance. you complain about a lack of wins, then you actually go win a game and people leave early

I was there and stayed. I was really hoping the Xmas song was going to say "new coach Jon Gruden" at the end, but then I woke up from my dream.

We were at the concession stand during halftime when the band was playing that song, and didn't get to hear what the words to the song were, but was wondering if they did mention something about a new coach.

Nope! It was kinda lame if you ask me. Sorry band lovers. They should have done something with Gruden. I noticed that Arkansas's band played "Hey Grude" during their LSU game. I tried to get my section to start a "We want Gruden" chant and couldn't get any help.

I'd say the cold had more to do with them leaving than the traffic. The place was 2/3 full at best so the traffic wasn't that bad. However, I do agree with why leave early if you're going to spend the time and money in the first place. I usually stay to the bitter/good end.

Yeah its always upset me too, especially when I was younger and had to leave early when I would go with a friend. I'd rather em leave me there. Now that im 18 and go to a lot by myself now I stay all game long, regardless of if were getting the piss beat out of us ( i.e. Florida)

I was at the game also and stayed to the bitter end. I was mainly there to support the seniors and to honor Smokey IX during his last game. However, I was pleasantly surprised that we were honoring Dickey for being the Cy Young winner this year. What really irked me is that the Kentucky Wildcat marching band continued to play while we were honoring him. I could barely hear the announcer over their band. I was sitting fairly close to them and if you were farther away, it probably wasn't that bad, but I still felt that it was incredibly disrespectful.

I thought the same thing. We finally had a game where we knew we were going to win and they leave. I sat there and soaked up the long awaited victory. And it was even more special since the kitty cats managed somehow to beat us last year so we got revenge

The first couple dozen racks of ribs out of the smoker at Calhouns are not to be taken lightly.

I was disappointed at the sparse crowd and how quiet it was. During the game, someone's phone rang 1 section over and I HEARD IT. Crazy.

What would you expect from Kentucky!!
I didn't even realize Kentucky had brought a band until about the third quarter. never heard a peep out of them where I was sitting

Proud to say I've never left a UT game early. A 12 hour round trip is to long to not enjoy every bit of the game we can.

I've got to manage my time carefully between going to games and posting on volnation. If you've been to a game you'd know you're lucky to get a text message out of the stadium let alone surf on the phone.
