And they don’t deserve that chance

it’s going to be appalling to listen and watch all the Kentucky love we hear in a few weeks. It won’t surprise my at all if they win it
I’ll be shocked if they did...just tried to give last night’s game away to Vandy who refused to accept it

I DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THAT GOSH FORSAKEN EXHIBITION!

I hate that dang event and hope the SEC doesn’t play it
Tennessee doesn’t hang SEC Tournament banners because we have never won one. KY has so many they use them for toilet paper.

Tennessee doesn’t hang SEC Tournament banners because we have never won one since the tournament restarted in 1979. KY has so many they use them for toilet paper.

Tennessee has won it when it mattered

those wins actually mattered due to the size of the ncaa field. It doesn’t matter now

It was a good win after not playing well at LSU.
It was also a win over a below avg SC team that was under manned as well.

Bailey having a career nite makes it look better on paper than it really is IMO. The match up last nite was a lot better than Saturday for Bailey and Vescovi. SC couldn't put near the pressure on either end that LSU did and it allowed Bailey to have a great nite and Vescovi an effective nite. The zone SC played fits their games better than Johnson right now.

Its all about match-ups going forward. The "style" isn't really going to change that very much.

I find that interesting. Last night South Carolina made ever shot they looked at with many contested. Kansas missed open shot after open shot. To me that was more about them being bad than our defense

Kansas definitely was cold, I wouldn’t expect to hold teams to 86.8 on the regular, that would rank #1 nationally...but I also don’t think it’s a coincidence how our defensive efficiency has fallen off with the increased tempo. Only 3 teams all year had shot over 45% against us, it has happened 2 times in the past 4 games though.

I haven’t done the math but at quick glance in those 3 games teams were hot from 3 against us, these last 4 that hasn’t really been the case overall, so that suggests to me 2pt% is waaaaay up for our opponents in that stretch...suggests more transition baskets for opponents and drives to the basket for easy looks.

Yea, quick math shows 2pt% allowed has gone from around 45% to 50% with increased tempo, 3pt% is almost identical to season average.

I didn’t much enjoy LSU
Me either, but LSU, like Alabama, is just a bad matchup for us. I knew going in we weren’t winning that game. We couldn’t throw it in the ocean, and we couldn’t stop them from scoring. Teams like that, that have athletes at every position, will give us fits regardless of pace if we can’t score ourselves, and we struggled to score, mightily, in both games.
