Watching the Oklahoma game tonight. They are big and they are fast. More speed than I expected. Great on defense. Tough ballplayers. Vols will get all they can handle in Norman this year, but I'm still hopeful we can keep it close and catch a late break to get the W.
they were favored by more than 40. Temple is terrible. Arkansas looked good too lmao. Oklahoma wont be tested until week 4.

Oklahoma gave up 4 sacks and a bunch of pressures to one of the ten worst teams in the FCS. Oline is an area of weakness, multiple times the corners from Temple stayed with the Wr in man coverage. One game, a lot could be improved when we go to Norman but I don't think the Oline will be one of them. Best thing they will have going for them is confidence going in undefeated.
Temple is a Group of 5 team not an FCS team, I thought Arnold OU QB looked about 5-10 or 5-11, they have him listed at 6-01" he just didn't look that tall.
Temple didn't look good and got off to bad turnovers that turned into TDs first 3 drives and went for in their own territory on 4th & 1 and came up empty, which led to another OU score also started the game with an on-side kick-off that didn't work. It was a bad team with bad coaching IMO, hard to glean anything from this game.
Dajon Terry was one of their best on D for OU and he could never crack the starting lineup at UT, this is his 6th year 3rd team so maybe he's improved.

They won't play anyone with a pulse until us. Hard to judge any of their games before us.
Looking at the UT schedule it looks to be one of the weakest i have seen in a decade especially heading into Oklahoma game. I am not sure how much street cred we will have by then either.

I didn't get to watch much of it, but I don't think there is really anything to gather from it. Arnold threw for 4 TDs, but also only had 141 yards and 5.6 yards per attempt, which is not good. They were just keeping it simple. They did run the ball well, but temple is terrible, so hard to gather that much from that.

OU looked good, but you have to factor in who they were playing. They also essentially have three scrimmage games before they play us. Tulane, who went 11-3 last year, should be the game to get a better feel for them. It was obvious last night their OL is their glaring weak spot. I get the distinct feeling Arnold will be running for his life most of the season. We will just have to be sure to keep containment.

I don't know how good Oklahoma is, but I'm now fully aware that Temple is epically bad.
That was my takeaway. Temple was absolutely terrible. Lost 4 fumbles and three 2 interceptions. Interestingly, OU was 1-12 on 3rd downs. They were 0-11 until late in the game when they finally converted one with their backups.

I struggle to see how the size and speed disparity were much different in this game than most FBS vs. FCS games?

Their other starting DT is a true freshman. He was ranked the 29th best DT recruit by 247.

Some of you are overreacting. The OU - Temple game was like watching an AAA high school team vs. a small town team somewhere in New Hampshire game. Or 240lbs players vs. 139lbs players. However, it appeared that temple got a little push against their OL. Based on that, I expect the Vols DL to penetrate often.
