James Zogby: Ellison Challenges Bachmann: Put Up or Shut Up

(Michele Bachmann) and four of her Congressional colleagues released letters they had collectively sent to the Inspectors General of the Departments of State, Justice, Defense, and Homeland Security, and the Office of the Directorate of National Intelligence calling on them to investigate whether "influence operations conducted by individuals and organizations associated with the Muslim Brotherhood" have "had an impact on the federal government's national security policies."

Warning of "determined efforts by the Muslim Brotherhood to penetrate and subvert the American government as part of its 'civilizational jihad'" the representatives wanted the Inspectors General to identify the Muslims who were influencing U.S. policy.
In a recent interview in which she discussed her effort, she explained, "it appears that there has been deep penetration in the halls of our United States government by the Muslim Brotherhood... it appears that there are individuals associated with the Muslim Brotherhood who have very sensitive positions in our Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security... I am calling [for an investigation] to see who these people are and what access they have to our information."
As an example of the potential this group might have to influence policy, this week the powerful Chairman of the House Select Committee on Intelligence, Mike Rogers, speaking on a radio program hosted by the head of the Center, called Bachman's campaign to "root out" Muslims "very important" noting that she is "taking the lead" on this issue.
Rogers is the Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

since our founding, America has always enjoyed a good witch hunt. Oddly enough they all end up in history books and the people reading them laughing at the ignorance. Looks like Bachmann skipped that class

And why does she believe that a supporter of the Muslim brotherhood can't hold a position in our gov't?

Wonder if those headaches get worse whenever she's around Muslim agent plants deep in the US national security apparatus.

She is an idiot. That being said, the Muslim Brotherhood is a very bad group. They were the inspiration for the formation of Al Qaeda.

this is even scarier when you think of how many people vote for her

not sure them being a bad group has anything to do with them holding office. Anyone can get elected (as evidenced by the "Rep" before Bachmann's name)

I'm not sure she ever opened an American history book, much less attended a class. How anyone takes her seriously is beyond me.

Xenophobia, 2012 edition.

That Gaffney clown, who apparently is a source of this, has even charged Grover Norquist with having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Huh?

Because the muslim brotherhood's stated goal is to overthrow the government of America and place this country under the rule of an islamic caliphate.

DUH!

For clarity; she doesn't say 'can't' (they obviously do), she says they should not be in those postitions.

In another case Hitlery's state department gave a visa to a known leader of an islamic terrorist group so that he could attend an intelligence conference at the White House.

The Obama regime has less respect for our laws than Al Capone for instance.

Obviously you've skipped some classes yourself.

http://frontpagemag.com/2012/nonie-darwish/huma-abedins-mothers-extreme-islamist-agenda/

Now let us examine Huma’s mother’s history and activities. Dr. Saleha Mahmood Abedin has been identified in Saudi Arabia as one of the founding members of the Muslim Sisterhood, a Muslim Brotherhood women’s group. This is the same group that half of Egypt was too scared to vote for and that was criminalized for many decades in Egypt for its subversiveness and terror activities. Dr. Abedin is no ordinary Muslim woman, but an activist who supports Sharia law. She is also a long-time chairperson of the “International Islamic Committee for Woman and Child” (IICWC). Now let us examine what that group is doing in Egypt today and why many Egyptians are afraid of its activities and are strongly denouncing it.

The last elections in Egypt have proved that half of Egypt is afraid of the Muslim Brotherhood and does not want to live under Sharia, but that is not the same concern of Abedin’s organization (IICWC), which is advocating Sharia law. The IICW contributed greatly to fear of its agenda after a recent publication in Arabic on its website. The following topics were discussed, among others, suggesting the annulment of Egyptian moderate laws, which would be replaced by Sharia laws. Below are some of the positions that appeared in the IICWC publication:

* The IICWC position that the current laws criminalizing female genital mutilation be revoked.

* The IICWC’s position demanding that the laws forbidding child marriage below the age of eighteen be revoked. No new minimum marriage age was given; the group stated that the marriage standard depends on the financial and mental ability and not dependent on a specific age.

* The IICWC’s positions, as reported, demanding that the laws forbidding marital rape be revoked and that polygamy is a right for men.

* The IICWC’s position that a health check-up before marriage be revoked since it is against religion and should not be part of the marriage contract.

* The IICWC’s position that criminal responsibility triggering at age 18 be reduced to age 15.

* The IICWC’s position revokes the right of a woman to register her newborn by herself for a birth certificate because Sharia states that a child’s lineage is given strictly to the father and his paternal line. The child belongs to the father even if it was the product of adultery.

* The IICWC’s position revokes the criminalization of physical and mental abuse of parents against children, so long as the punishment does not cause a permanent deformity or the beating is too extreme.

Above are the values that Huma Abedin’s mother believes in and that her organization is trying to impose on the Egyptian public after the revolution. Huma did not keep a distance from her mother’s activities when she introduced Secretary Clinton to her activist mother. During Clinton’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the US Secretary of State visited and spoke at the Islamic college of Dar El-Hekma together with Huma, where Dr. Saleha Abedin was a vice-dean and one of its founders.
-------------------------

When it comes to politics, appearances do count and Huma and Clinton’s defenders need to understand that. Rep. Bachmann and her colleagues should be applauded for pushing the alarm button, not just regarding Abedin, but regarding many others in our government, to alert us all to a possible security threat from the Muslim Brotherhood and the “civilization jihad” they aspire for in America.

GS: "Blah blah blah, being a Moslem is anti-constitutional, blah blah blah, some more righteous stuff about the constitution that has no basis in reality."

Blah, blah, blah yoiurself.

McCarthy would be proud.

McCarthy was right BTW!

Everything he said proved to be true.

The last two senators who supported him were JFK and Robert Kennedy, I guess you are familiar with what eventually happened to them?

So is there any truth to it?

The response we have is a character attack upon Bachman.

What we do't have is answers to her questions.

You be the judge.

FWIW, back when Huma was Hitlery's assistant and Hitlery was running for office, it was required information that Hitlery divulge what she was paying Huma Abedin.

It was a paltry sum but then one of the magazines put Huma on the cover as one of the best dressed women in Washington.

There was no way she could pay for those togs on the money she was getting from Hitlery.

At the time I surmised that Abedin was being paid by the Saudi intelligence service but now we can see that it wasn't Saudi intelligence but the muslim brotherhood who was giving her the money to be the bessed dressed woman in Washington. (or it could have been Bubba, you know how he is.)

gs, you need a new avi

How about this:?

All day long I've tried to reply to you in the pic thread.

Evidently I'm not allowed to post in that thread.

Anyway I was going to ask you if the following would go over well:

Whatcha' think?

neither should Bachmann but it happens

Why not?

If studying or understanding history is required there should be a flashing vacancy sign on the Hill.

In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams
went to negotiate with Tripoli’s envoy to London,
Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul
Rahman Adja). Upon inquiring “concerning the grounds
of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had
done them no injury”, the ambassador replied:

"It was written in the Koran, that all nations which
had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners,
whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to
plunder and enslave; and that every muslim who
was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. "

Two hundred years later not one word of the Koran
has changed, nor has it's interpretaion by islamic
scholars and their plan is still the same.

Do you care to expand upon this?

Not GS but here is a quote from a PBS documentary:

Ronald Steel, Historian: What was striking about Bobby was not that he worked for Joe McCarthy so much, but rather that he admired Joe McCarthy, and became very close to Joe. So when McCarthy was conducting his investigations into suspected Communists, Bobby enthusiastically joined in this role.

What?

McCarthy was right, the US state department was rife with communists, now it has one at it's head, Hitlery Clinton.

The Kennedy brothers were the last two senators to vote with McCarthy.

FWIW an Army Major was interviewed in Vietnam by the press and when asked about field reports (the press was trying to prove we were inflating enemy killed numbers), he replied; 'what good does it do to file a field report when it ends up on the desk of some communist in Washington?'

The Secretary of the Army personally ordered the Major to his home in Denver, Colorado with the caveat that he not speak to the press at all, when his enlistment was finished he was decomissioned.

I knew a guy very well who visited Joe Kennedy on numerous occasions on eyes only business when he was ambassador to England and even was a guest more than once at the Hyanisport compound and he always had good things to say about Joe although he may not have always agreed with all his politics.

Once I was talking with an old UT schoolmate who had reached the apex of his art with the federal government, to go higher he would have had to have a presidential appointment, we disagreed about one thing in particular and when I mentioned that the group he was supporting was a communist front organization he screamed at me; "I AM A COMMUNIST," and suggested I get some new friends, I did.

More questions?

My question was more to first two remarks and the implication at the end of the third remark.

The first remark was "McCarthy was right".

The Kennedys believing McCarthy was right and working with him supports that statement.

It is interesting that McCarthy has now been vilified and the Kennedys deified.
