Show me the development job Hartline has done with any of his WRs that matches what Pope did with Hyatt.

Chris Olave. 3 star recruit. 1st round pick.
Career 176 receptions 2,711 yds. 15.4 yds per rec. 36 TDs

Jalin Hyatt. 4 star recruit.
Career 108 receptions 1,769 yds 16.4 yds per rec 19 TDs
One could argue that the jump Hyatt made from '21 to '22 was a more impressive feat than Olave's year to year development. But you expect more from a 4 star than a 3 star. I am not diminishing what Pope has done so far and for Hyatt, but the overall body of work for Hartline is more impressive.

Totally agree....Brian Hartline is the best of the best.... He recruits and develops like noone else. His 6-7 years with the Miami Dolphins was also pretty good and sure helps in recruiting.

Tennessee has the most first round picks at WR all-time with 11 (possibly 12 in April). So we are still WRU all-time, to me. However, I doubt anyone has thought of us as such in at least 15 years, which is understandable. But we have some absolute studs we are going to send to the NFL over the next few years, starting in April.

Have you seen that statistic updated in recent years? I know we had the lead at one time but things change when you stagnate for 15 years like we did.

That is a good stat. I was mostly surprised to see most of the comparisons being to OSU personally. I think LSU has a pretty strong case considering they may have the best 2 receivers in the NFL right now in Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase on the heels of the OBJ and Landry era.

We need Hyatt to go round 1 big time.

I don't think he will unless he goes to the Chiefs. I love Hyatt and what he accomplished this season was incredible but I think he will have a hard time adjusting to the NFL with his frame. IMO, he needs to get a bigger and more physical to compete with NFL corners. His bread and butter is out running the defender but that is harder to replicate consistently in the NFL.

How did so many teams forget to cover Jalin Hyatt? They did not forget about him... I will not be surprised if his NFL Combine measures are out of this world. Dude is scary fast.
