I know this place is Grand Central for the Pearlophobes and your two week long orgasm was given a second wind yesterday, but I'm still missing the severity of the actions as many posters have expressed here. I know hat will take any example to the shine the worst light possible on pearl, but many have hopped on board.

However, to me, I'm not overwhelmed. I hear the word "cheater" and all I see is a couple of early visits to his house, one of which was 6 years ago. Violations, yes. Heinous acts of a cheating coach manipulating the system and disgracing his profession? Eh.....not so much, although that seems to be expressed quite often here. I mean, speeding is illegal, but it doesn't make you a criminal to get a ticket.

As I've maintained, the one thing I think that could get Pearl here is lying, not any of the other pretty tepid violations and this is where this story lies. The strange thing is that I still see no reason for lying. I mean, a kid visiting your house as a junior? Yeah, I get the recidivism, but it still wouldn't have been more than a slap on the wrist. I'll never know why Pearl panicked.

In any event, it's always good to know that this is the best place on the web for any UT fan in need of self-loathing and spite against their coach. Hat certainly has done well with his personal agenda and gained a solid following. Hopefully, I'll hear no more recruiting horror stories of Pearl inviting Jordan McRae to his son's school play or extra candy at Holloween for Tobias Harris. I don't know if I could stomach the evil nature of those misdeeds.

The one from 6 years ago has no bearing in this case, it was just stating that he's done it before....once a cheat, always a cheat

For the record, unimaine, I despised pearl long before I ever stumbled upon volnation.

Carry on with whatever it is you do.

Solid following?

You can practice a few hours with Corel Paint and get more mouthbreathers to love you on 4chan than the 5 or less guys who follow him around.

Two Yankees fans love TN...

Yuck.

If you are a fan of Duke, you better have gone there or you are a loser.

If you are a fan of the Yankees, I hope you are from within an hour drive of the stadium or you are a complete loser.

Kids with Kobe jerseys who are from East TN suck more than a Hoover vacuum.

I'll just say that this is the second time someone has misspelled my name. Borderline epidemic.

It isn't the severity of any single infraction, it's the multiple infractions and the misleading statements made when he was confronted. Add these together and couple that with past cases being made public and the NCAA is going to do more than slap you on the wrist IMO.

Hat has a personal dislike for Pearl and while I don't feel the way he does his reputation is certainly tarnished in my eyes. If your going to claim the moral high ground and call out other programs for bending/breaking the rules you'd better be above reproach, otherwise you are little better than a snake.

Keep showing how little you know. Now get back to the sirens or sniffing around Frist a little more.

You realize their is more to NY than just the city?
Probably not if you actually like Mike Hamilton :)

Again, the "cheat" part, to me, is a bit of stretch. Ultimately, I only care because it affects UT and not because I'm Pearl's personal biographer (Although, I obviously like him as a coach). I'm just looking at the details and thinking the "cheating" expressed thus far is pretty weak. Nearly everyone cheats and lies in life, but I wouldn't call them cheaters or liars until they hit a certain degree of cheating and lying. Has Pearl? I'm not totally convinced. He's certainly broken a few minor rules and lied at least once, so we'll see.

If he had not spent his entire career pandering to folks with an iq around 50 about being such a stand up guy, he would have more fans.

Has Pearl done good things for our program? Without a doubt
Will this end up causing more bad than he has good? I have a feeling it might.....

and karma's a B I tell ya.....Pearl has no one to blame but himself

Yeah, I mean, the East TN NBA basketball team might make the playoffs...oh wait...

No way. If Pearl gets fired today, he's still gotten UT on the national map from a 20 year oblivion and helped initiate a series of facility upgrades that were needed to compete with the big programs. We are no doubt better off than 5 years ago when this was referred to as a "coaching graveyard" by people like Roy "Popcorn" Williams and will be for the near future due to Pearl, regardless of most any type of probation something like this would incur.

People can tolerate folks that bend the rules or truth. However, people look down on hypocrites. That's what is happening here. Hypocrisy will almost always get a rise out of folks.

Make that three. I used to live within an hour of The Stadium when I was a kid, but my family moved to TN and I eventually attended UT. I still live in TN today, and am all-Vol, but I will always love the Yankees as well.

So you live between DC and NYC? But you eschewed the closer NFL team to be a Redskins fan?....

There, their little Yankee vol.

ZJC, Lakers fans in East TN are all about to become Miami Heat fans. They are losers because they are all bandwagon, have no investment and no connection.

When you say you are a fan of the Yankees and the Vols, if you are a guy who came down from NY to go to school at TN that is awesome. If you are a complete loser who grew up here and has fidelity to your home program but then abandoned fandom and just decided to jump on the wagon of the biggest payroll in baseball along with criminals and rappers, YOU SUCK.

Kind of funny. I was writing that your kind of fan is fine by me at the same time you were writing.

Spurrier's a loser.

Where was Steinbrenner from, originally?

I am not sure how you would have come to positively correlate the wearing of a player's jersey with a child's (alleged) oral fixations, and am not sure that I want to offer any guess. You know, should anyone be indicted.

It's not the secondary violations, it's the lying and covering up of the violations while acting like he was banished from the coaching world for his moral character.

Not sure how that's hard to understand?

It's the phoniness that's nauseating, and all that said I'm glad he's still the coach because he's done a good job.

Is it too hard to go back and read that I said the same thing?
