Souce's Coffee Discussion Thread

I don’t think I’ve ever tipped at a drive through (how do you say “keep the change” if you pay with a card?), but I’ve always tipped for carry out,
It's something I do and I won't say a word to you if you don't. Unless you bring it up first by telling me Im silly for doing it and you're gonna be a dick about how you tease bussers with nickles. Lol.

My first job at 14 was bussing tables at an Air Force golf club restaurant (flyboys seemed to have long arms, I noticed.) At closing, the waitresses all pooled their tips and gave 10% to the bus staff. I think I maybe made $1.80 an hour, plus the tips. So I believe in tipping.

Now that I think of it, some fast-food places do have tip jars inside; just can’t figure how to do it outside so that it doesn’t go straight to someone’s/ manager’s pocket. Or accidentally to Ronald McDonald House.

I always pay with the app at Starbucks. They just scan the QR code and you're good to go -- and it does give you an option to tip for a fixed amount of time after the order.

For $4 I'd ask.
I've only been disappointed one time when requesting "dark roast", so I don't really give a chit!

Most of the stores around here only brew dark roast up until 10am, so if I have a Starbucks craving after then I usually have to get Pike Place. It gets the job done.

An app implies a lot more foresight than I’m willing to employ the 1-2 times/ month that I do fast food, but this makes sense. Other than going to Starbucks in the first place..

I dunno what is sadder, tipping at a drive through, or drinking starbucks crappy overpriced poorly roasted coffee. I have lost so much respect in this thread.
