Souce's Coffee Discussion Thread

Really love this coffee. Now I need to find a comparable blend for the rest of the year....

I am not a Starbucks fan. I think they over roast (burn) just about every blend they make. We have a local coffee house that's pretty darn good, and a good local roaster that supplies the university with a signature roast.

However, when I am at the university working, I will stop in their branch and get a blonde roast from them, and depending on whose working I might get it free. I just have trouble paying close to $3 for a regular old coffee. They had the xmas blonde roast which was pretty good. They also had the xmas roast you got, but I didn't try it. My wife gets their medicine ball tea when she's ailing. It's actually pretty good. I do like flat whites regardless of origin.

What da hail kinda Kcups you buying? My Keurig coffee is .3125 cents per cup.

Keurig users beware. I loved mine. Greatest thing since grits. Makes great coffee, especially for me since I'm the only drinker in the house. That regular cleaner they sell you for your occasional descaling process. Garbage. Doesn't tackle the biggest issue with Keurig. And it does not clean that tank. If you suffer from repeated sickness, you Keurig might be the source. The reason you get a hot cup so quickly a sealed internal little water holding tank that heats up quickly. The fresh water you put in is not the cup you are drinking. It only re-supplies that little tank. a tank which cannot be accessed without tearing your Keurig apart. I watched a You Tube video on this very thing. So, I filled mine with vinegar and Clorox and let sit for a couple days, then started flushing it with water and the stuff that came out of it OMG. Didn't even start clearing up until about 4th or 5th pass. Might as well have been brewing form shrapnel from a old sink drain. Nasty ain't the word. I tossed mine and haven't drank coffee for a Keurig or similar machine since. Broke my heart, but it had to be done.

I realize this can also be the case with drip coffee makers as well. But, if you do not clean properly, you are drinking some nasty stuff. I think I will be getting me one of those little metal stove top espresso brewers.

Only been to Starbucks once and then it was to meet a friend that wanted to go there.

We go to Starbucks drive-thru once per year. In the fall. To get a coffee that is only offered during the fall.
