Sound familiar Pearl fans?

Lots of people parrot this arguement. If we're going to question what CCM got out of these players(which is questionable) then let's be fair and question what Pearl got out of Scotty Hopson. You remember Hopson, right? He was the HS McDonald's All-American that was a sure fire one and done player that never reached his potential at UT. And what about the revolving door at PG Pearl had going on? People have selective memories. Yes, we had success with Pearl, but we also had frustration at what he got out of his players(when he could keep them out of trouble, Duke Crews, Ramar Smith, Tyler Smith).

Scotty Hopson was very unappreciated by this fan base.

Not gonna argue with you on smith and crews. Pearl took a chance on those guys early in his time at UT and it backfired.

I've grown weary of all the CBP talk, especially while the team is still playing in the NCAA tourny, but you're really reaching if you ignore the overall success of the program under CBP and try to discredit him because every player didn't develop individually as far as the fan base thought possible. That would be comparable to this current squad making the final 4 and then claiming the season was a bust because players 6-12 didn't have great seasons.

CBP is like debating religion or abortion on this forum. You're not going to change the other side's opinion on the matter so just give it up.

The Scotty Hopson hatred by UT fans is laughable.

You misread my intentions. I don't hate Scotty Hopson. I hate it for him that he didn't have a coach that knew how to maximize his potential. I think he had the tools to be a great player, but Pearl had no idea how to work with him and develop him. You expect to see a player improve his skills from year to year. I never saw that with Scotty, and I think it falls on Pearl and a lack of coaching.

Yeah I still don't think you get it. There's nothing wrong with Hopson. Fan opinion of him, including yours, is off base. Most UT fans don't appreciate how good Hopson was here because he wasn't what they'd hoped.

Not speaking for cnchris. Jmo

This is why neither Pearl nor Martin is the right answer.
