Petersen is not a scientologist, he's Catholic. There's an actor a year younger who spells his last name the same way that is a scientologist. A thread is needed to inform everyone that whoever CP coaches for they will not be getting a scientologist as a coach, they'll be getting a Catholic Christian.

Petersens son, Sam, fell when he was 1 year old and ended up with brain tumor which spread to his spine..he still requires treatment and should be about 14 years old....Arkansas is trying to sell petersen on their children's hospital and the help he could get there...

Petersen does not particually like media so a jump to any school, especially in SEC would be a headache....don,t see him leaving Boise....

Peterson has never recruited past Texas. He's a west coast guy. I see him joining the PAC 12 as all this conference alignment plays out.

Boise st. is going to make a counter offer to try to keep him but don't know if it will be enough.

Yeah right so your telling me that Mark Packer was wrong tonight on the sports source when he said Petersen was a scientologist? Next your going to tell me Charlie Strong has a white wife.

Seriously though thanks for the information I stand corrected. Just for the record I don't care about a coaches faith, color or color of his wife.

I've also heard reporters from out west say the scientology rumors are false with CP.
Plus... Who cares?

This announcement supposedly coming out Tuesday. If so, Arkansas got the pick of the coaches liter.

Arkansas ends up hiring Art Briles. Certainly not the homerun hire they hoped for in Gruden, Peterson or Patterson but Briles is a great coach for Arky.

A much better hire for Arky than TN. The reason I say it is because Arkansas' closest recruiting hot bed is Texas. Google anywhere and see that many say Briles is the most connected coach in Texas as a result of his many years in TX as a head coach.

For us, we need a coach with ties to the Georgia, Florida area. Not sure how many kids in Texas are willing to go 600 to 1000 miles away to Knoxville.

I think Arkansas does well with him.

Arkansas fans don't really have a clue on the hire. Just like Tennessee and Auburn, we have a few people running around, quoting "sources", and pretending to know something, whether they do or not.

It sounds like your media is just as blind as the Arkansas media. AD Long has kept a tight lid on this search, and basically, not even spilled the beans about who is on his short list. We've heard the same thing you guys have in your search. Petersen, Gundy, Gruden, and Patterson, with Strong, Malzahn, Franklin, Tuberville, and Smart, being the backup choices.

The same names being mentioned here, and on Auburn's boards.

Supposedly, Arkansas and Tennessee have both met with Gundy - a choice I wouldn't be thrilled with.

All in all, I'll just be glad when this thing is over. Tennessee really just began the search. We've been going through this since April 4th.

No one in Arkansas has a real grasp on what Long is up to, and if they do, they're not sharing. All the rumors there are second and third hand. You know how that works.

Besides, you're my favorite SEC team in the East. Tough season for both of us.

We'll see if Long will install a "No Harley", clause in our new hire's contract.

Peterson is NOT leaving Boise. Cal already offered him and he if were to go anywhere it would be a PAC12 team since he recruits that area so heavily. Peterson is a rare breed in that money does not motivate the guy. Cal was ready to throw money at him

Guess that means either Hart is stupid or Arky is a better place to coach.
