Yes, it was a way to end the game more quickly, but even if South Carolina had gotten the 2 point conversion, Alabama would have also had 43 seconds and 3 timeouts to try to get a FG.SC had no timeouts! Should have down it on the one the .5 yardline! Game would have been over..
I don’t think the OC called up the offensive lineman deciding to catch the tipped ball and lose them 15-20 of their 43 seconds rather than just knocking it down.They deserved to lose with that playcalling. Got an absolute gift for a chance to win the game and that’s what your OC calls up? No words.
He shouldn’t been calling pass plays there with a turnover heavy qb when you just need a couple 1st downs to get into position to kick a fg.
