Shows how uninformed I am. The players seem to be playing for him. I figured they would roll over and die after the Elon and TSU debacles.

As a coach, he does a great job, and the players like him. They loved playing for him here at WKU, it was off the court issues that I witnessed, and him screwing the players on their awards banquet when he announced he was leaving. And again, he could have learned from mistakes and changed his demeanor before showing up in SC.

I have never seen anyone recruit well at SC, so it's a tough gig. He has graded out as average IMO, but certainly has the potential. Not knocking your program, but it's how I see it.

No, I agree. Our program sucks. It will likely be a while before we sniff the dance again. I hope he can get it turned around. It would be nice to get excited about basketball season again.

Your arena is bad a$$....great atmosphere, its a shame they cant build something like Miss state or Fla has done.

Having Palmetto Pig located right down the street is a nice plus. I can't believe that place stays closed on Saturdays, even when there's a home game. But, I love pre-gaming at Palmetto Pig whenever the Vols play there on a weeknight, which we have in recent years on a Thursday.

I think this year's game is on a Saturday. Hudson's Smokehouse will be fine though. I can't go to SC without eating BBQ.

I know one has closed, at least temporarily, due to a fire, per the company website. I have been to the one in Lexington. It's not too far from I-26. I like passing through Columbia to get to Knoxville from Jax. Great Pork BBQ buffets. Hudson's, Palmetto Pig, and Duke's in Walterboro are my favorites so far.

I've never been to Duke's or Palmetto Pig. I love Hudson's. That Durf-n-Turf is where it's at. I recommend it, if you have never tried it.

I can't find that one in a web search.

I have been to about seven BBQ places in the state, and the three I named stand out to me. There's another 1-2 places in the Columbia area that I plan on trying.

If you are ever in Columbia for a weeknight Gamecock game, I'd give Palmetto Pig a shot. It's at 530 Devine Street, right down from the Arena. They have very limited hours though. A pitcher of tea sits on every table, and the AYCE BBQ is very good.

I meant to put Surf-n-Turf. Sorry. It's on Hudson's menu. It's solid. You get pulled pork, fish, and ribs, iirc. So good. Had it after the Bama game last year. Perfect ending to a perfect day.

How has nobody mentioned Maurice's yet?

I've never been to Maurice's, due to the owner being a racist and segregationist.

Actually my dear WKU brethren, they shut down that krystals about 4 years ago. No more rectal rockets right next to campus for the kiddo's.

Devestated, I know you are.
