Looks like. Not sure I like that it's the same name as a shuttle. Unless it would of been something like Challenger II, or Columbia II or I'd have been for Enterprise II.

Capt. James Kirk is commander of the USS Zumwalt. This guy has got to be commander of the USS Enterprise when it is completed in a few years.

The second part of this video where they are already removing the remnants of SN4 is oddly mesmerizing.

So I've seen different sides of this on several sites. Some think it's a worthy goal, others think it's a waste of money that could be better spent on more earthly projects.

How does VN feel about the budgets for NASA as well as the goals in our space programs?

ETA: NASA budget typically runs $17-18 Billion and change.

If the original tame nazi rocket engineers plan had been followed yes.

Recap vid!

This is complete 🐃💩!

So someone at National Geographic went on a tangent last night on YouTube and claimed copyright infringement on hundreds of videos from the launch yesterday. Including videos like the one I posted above from the Official NASA YouTube page.

I guess they were upset with people complaining about their coverage on social media.

Deleted... I thought the guy posting about a mouse/rat on the space launch was right. Somebody else posted that it was actually likely to be ice. It really does look like a rat though, so I can see why people would think that. I certainly believed it after watching the video repeatedly.

My ten year old daughter and I watched the Space X launch live on Saturday. She is really into science and space. She really enjoyed watching the whole thing. When the astronauts let the sequin dragon float up when they hit zero gravity she laughed out loud and said "I didn't know they could do that"! lol I really hope this reinvigorates an emphasis on science and technology in this country again. I know my daughter and I were in awe of the entire thing.

I have found myself less interested in this whole thing than at any time in manned flight. These guys (yeah they are testing certain systems), but as time goes on, these guys won't be needed. They won't be pilots. This 'capsule' is designed to autonomously go to the ISS and dock. In the NEAR future, everybody on board will be a passenger and nothing more. Any capsule tour I have seen has focused on the windows and the seats and suits than the controls.

It's boring and unexciting. Spam in a can.

Here's an interesting video game for you. I crashed the first time due to closure rate but now I can do a 360 roll or loop before attaching. It ain't hard. Null out the roll pitch and yaw with the right side controls, then use the translational controls on the left to dock. Keep all your rates in the green and you are good to go.

I'm the opposite I think we are entering a very exciting time with Orion and Artemis scheduled to launch next year. Starliner coming in a few months the continued development of the Lunar Gateway program and of course the development of Starship. Even other private companies like Blue Origin which we really haven't heard anything from in months.

I think for the first time in decades thanks to the Trump administration NASA finally has a vision and a purpose and IMO an administrator in Jim Bridenstine to get things done. I just hope as long as Democrats don't win this fall and shut it down the way Obama did the Ares/Constellation Program we might see some amazing things in the next 4 to 6 years!

I'm starting to wish I hid behind some bags of food on Dragon/Endeavor and got the hell off this shitstorm of a rock.
