Speaking my peace

You hit the nail on the head! I've been reading lots of postings on the Vols coaching staff and how some of the people have either been wanting to get rid of this coach or that coach. Always seems that a coach has to end up either resigning or fired for things to change. Sometimes things change and sometimes they don't. Besides calling for someone's head, we also need to look at the players. It's just as much their fault, if not more, than the coaching staff. I guess Randy thought this was all his fault and someone had to take the blame. My question is: Did Phil say something to Randy? I haven't read all the media info or posts on what brought all this about. Don't know how many of you watched the game on TV Saturday, but the personnel that were broadcasting the game stated that the problems were not Phil Fulmer's fault. I have to agree with them, but then there are those who think that by Fulmer resigning or being fired would make a difference. I saw one post, which I didn't get the chance to read entitled "Bring back Johnny Majors!" One has to look at the sports program as a whole, irregardless off which program-baseball, football, basketball, track- it is and see where the problems are. Sometimes it's the players-sad to say. Maybe the players need to have a meeting among themselves to get the program redirected/set their sights in the right direction. That's what it takes sometimes. I remember one of the tapes from the 1998 Championship year where Phil talked to the team after the Florida game, I believe, and asked them where they wanted to be at the end of the football season. 1998, the Vols got 3 "big breaks" (Syracuse, Florida and Arkansas). As we all know, it takes some breaks to fall a teams way in order to make it through a Championship Year.
I've said my piece and don't know whether you agree with me or not. Everyone has their own opinion.
I know it's been a long time since the Vols football team has had this bad a season. We just have to bear with it and hope better things come along regardless of what happens at South Bend. I'm a Vol fan irregardless of how the Vols do. We have "PRIDE" in our team! GO VOLS!!!!!!!
