Speaking of recruiting

I don't think you can medically redshirt twice but not sure?

You can apply for a sixth year providing your first redhirt was medical and not developmental or some other reason. KM would most likely be granted the 6th year if he wants it. Question is, does he want it?

Also...hopefully we don't have the attrition we had last year. We lost multiple 4 stars, including several on the defensive line. It's hard to build depth when you lose so many at one position in one year

Thanks guys I didn't know. I personally would love it if Curt came back. However can't blame him if he wants to go to NFL however not sure what his stock is due to durability issues.

If you look at the impact of the players that redshirted this year, coupled with the players that will be coming in, potentially it could be a heckuva "class". I'm wouldn't be too worried about the final rankings.

The defensive tackle from Louisiana-Christmas. Not very high rating but seems to have some good offers. Think he is much better prospect than his rating.

After the game last night I think we are definitely on the way. We should win out (including bowl win) and go into 2016 with a legitimate chance at East and the SECCG.

Great recruiting has got us to be competitive but we are still young and shallow in many positions.

Question: Is the current class mainly filling needs in line of scrimmage type positions? This current class does not seem to have the star power as the previous 2 (so far).

Is this by design (trench positions) or is this class just not as good as the previous 2?

What does this mean for chances of success for 2016 and beyond?

Sidenote: Why are you on volnation, Alshon?

The class may be smaller but needs to be full of difference makers. Bama; LSU etc will have top classes again. We can't afford to miss to take a class off

Precisely. Ultimately that contributed to Fulmer's demise in the 2000's. He'd have a top 3 class then the next one would be outside the top 25. You have to maintain that high level of recruiting year in and year out. I hope we can at least crack the top 10 when it's all said and done.

Another thing is limiting attrition. We lost ALOT of highly ranked recruits from the 14 class. Attrition happens everywhere but you can't lose multiple highly ranked DL every year and expect to build quality depth

We might still get a top 10 class. We're in on 3 5 star guys as well as a couple of high 4 stars. We could also see some of our current commits get bumps.

Remember at this time last year no one thought we'd get Phillips or Richmond. Both 5 stars. And guys like Kirkland and Martin committed in December.

Lotta time left. A 8-4 finish plus a bowl win will net us a top 10 class.

:lolabove: Exactly...if we go 8-4 and finish the season as strong as possible, we will do fine with recruiting. I think we will & I think we will have a top 10 recruiting class again. Especially after the Bama game...people can see that Tn is coming back. They will want to be part of that. The Vols are taking over the East next year.

I expect JRM to be back and probably Sutton as well. If anyone leaves early it will be Sutton I think, but I have a feeling he may be back as well. GBO!

Hope we close out this class strong. Like someone said, you cannot have an off year and expect to compete to win the SEC. Top 10 every year at a minimum. Really need top 5 year in and year out to get the roster to match up with the top teams in our conference.
