Spoke To Munchie Legaux

Gerald Jones, James Banks, Hines Ward, Matt Jones, Antwaan Randel El... It is obvious that former QBs can never be competent WRs.

The only ones that I could remember were Gerald Jones and James Banks but I know there are lots of former HS QBs out there that are playing other positions now at the next level.

I think everyone needs to take it easy on the kid he meant well.

a) merge

b) to the guy from ootelawaohsfawah who said something was "dumb", then immediately said offering Legaux would be a "waiste" of a scholly..... yeah you're right buddy, it'd sure be a mid-section of a scholly.

I think you are way off. There are no former HS Quarterbacks doing anything at the college level. If they are playing at the college level they probably suck...for example: Eric Berry.

Oh...hmmm...you're right.

Anquan Boldin and Peter Warrick too. I'm sure he meant well but it doesn't take much effort for anyone to find examples that disprove his opinion.

The only 2 on your list that are legit WRs are Randal El and Hines Ward. Gerald Jones has yet to show he's a competent route runner. Matt Jones??? Seriously??? James Banks.... I'll let the people who follow Carson-Newman football explain that one. Sure, he was decent for 1 season at UT but he should've dominated in D-II and didn't.

I'm not saying QBs can't play WR. But you just named 2 legit examples among 1,000s of busts. For every Hines Ward, there's an Arnez Battle.

I'd say Matt Jones has done just fine as a WR after being a QB in college...

So you're saying it would be wasting a scholarship to have either Jones or Banks play WR for you?

The thing about HS QBs is that they're generally by far the best players and athletes on that team, and their skills translate well to WR. I don't know enough about Munchies athleticism to predict that.

I wouldn't even call Arnaz Battle a bust. He switched to WR his last year I believe and started. An effective college WR doesn't have to have 1000 yds. Plus he was drafted and in the NFL for a few years.

I agree. Maybe I just should've said this instead of my response.

very true i agree and yes matt jones is a stud at wr now but still i just dont believe in doing that to a highschool qb unless are staff as evaluated him. but thats why they list highschool qbs under ATH's that they think can play somewhere else like reciever and munchie isnt a ath he is a dual threat qb

Brad Smith was gb for MU before the Jets drafted him as a wr with no experience at that position

Not to keep trying to contradict everything you say but Russell Shepard was listed as a QB last year and I think he's gonna play WR at LSU.

I haven't seen enough of Munchie to know if he'll be a good WR but I don't think it'd be a waste of a scholarship if the coaches offered him. With his size, he could be decent if his hands and route running are developed.

espn had him as a ath actually but yes he could be a good wr but all im saying is right now to me that would be waste and i wouldnt feel as comfortable unless are coaches tried him out at wr at camp and thought he deserved a scholarship

We would ALL be shocked to see the amout of great college players (non qb's) that played QB in high school!

BTW...James Banks was an awsome athlete that was too stupid to be a player!
