SI saying that Johnson and Springer have a good chance to lead Tennessee to NC if they continue leading Tennessee and that the defense is top notch but that the offense needs to keep developing and that Fulkerson must find his game again offensively to complement Johnson and Springer.

We might make it but I will not believe the hype. The UGA game got pretty sloppy in the second half.

Itā€™s easy to find weakness with a lot of teams. Vols arenā€™t unlike ā€˜19 Texas Tech. Especially if we can start to find our offense at this point in the season. Very much like they did.

This is true. If we can get healthy and hot at the right time to go along with a favorable bracket, we could make a deep run. Final 4 might be a tad optimistic tho. If this team got to the sweet 16, it would be a fantastic cap to a wonderful season. Only downside is that we'll be losing KJ and Springer before we got to see them with Chandler. What I wouldn't give to see both those guys decide to stay one more year...just one.

That year Texas Tech was ranked 15 in KenPom at this point in the season. I think most of their fans probably would have said the same thing. Plenty can happen between now and then and we have seen the potential of this team. We have a high ceiling. Not that I expect it, but itā€™s certainly possible

True. Though, I think most of our guys had played too many minutes with Pons out and Keon got in a little foul trouble. They looked tired near the end trying to break the press. Hopefully Yves comes back full strength.

I donā€™t really do negative postingā€”-at least I donā€™t recall any. I post rarely...usually reminiscing-type ramblings. Elite 8 for this 20-21 team? I donā€™t ā€œseeā€ it. There are stretches when weā€™re incredibly good (UK run at the end). Compare that with the near collapse against UGA on Wednesday. Too many famines mingled with feasts. Barnes may be able to cure some of these wrinkles in the next month; but, I see a Sweet Sixteen as the teamā€™s high water mark. Hope Iā€™m wrong, though.

If we keep our offense trending without drop off on D and eliminate the turnovers there's no reason we won't be there, outside of a red hot team just having one of those games (Loyola Chicago). It seems we solved the problem from Ole Miss by pressing the pace of the ball up court and being more aggressive to the rim to mitigate the trap.

Let's see what happens when defenses scheme to shut down Springer and Johnson. Let's see if other players respond successfully and points are delivered from other positions (without hot shooting from 3).

If our offense can prove itself to be a "pick your poison" proposition for opposing defenses... yeah--with our defense, we would be an elite-8 team.

Is it possible the highs and lows are a result of such a young roster and they will develop more consistentsy throughout the season?
