I lulz'd.

Grier is easily the better QB, and he might be the better athlete.

Our OL situation is as bad or worse than UT last season.

I'm already expecting at least 3-4 miracle plays when you guys play us that take the pressure off your OL.

Grier will probably throw a 70 yard pass while getting sacked by Barnett that Robinson will grab out of Cam Sutton's hands and take it in for a TD.

Then Brandon Powell will get tackled for a loss, except he will never touch the ground and will get up and run for a 90 yard TD.

Then Grier will get replaced by Harris due to a minor injury and Harris will take it up the gut for a 50 yard TD.

Then McElwain will go for a Hail Mary down 8 with 4 seconds to go from your own 30 yard line, and after 6-7 laterals, some fat guy will end up with the ball and score, and of course the Gators will succeed on the 2-point conversion.

We have some nasty players on our front 7, but I'm not ready to dub the entire group as a team of studs. Barnett speaks for himself, JRM and Maggit as well. We have some serious young talent coming in, but again it's young. Bates is a beast, but our sample size of him is small.

You may be right, our front 7 may be a game changer, but right now I count 3 proven studs and a great deal of potential in the remaining positions.

JMO of course.

Barnett, JRM, Maggit, Vereen, Bates, Bynum, Lewis, Weathered...all names that made significant plays this past season or improved their game to a level where they were potent. And no reason to think they won't be even more effective this year. And while I'll be in a wait and see on folks like Tuttle, Wright, Mosley, Sapp, Picou, Phillips and McKenzie, the ever growing list of threats in the defense will certainly give any offensive coordinator pause for thought in game planning.

I'm stating a fact. That's not a slam on Florida, but rather an observation that not a lot of Offensive Lines will be able to hold up for 60 minutes against what we're bringing to the table.

Take your Gator Glasses off for a minute and say "UT will be bringing a nasty front 7 to the field this year."

You didn't state a fact, you asked a question.

The fact is we don't know how many SEC OLs will have trouble "putting up a fight" against UT's front seven.

Based on my limited knowledge of other SEC teams' OL situation, I feel confident saying I know of at least one SEC OL that will have trouble putting up a fight against UT's DL.

I've gone to a couple open practices for UK. Towles looks good short and med., but still iffy on the deep passes. Barker was very meh. Receivers are better than they ever have been in a long time. A couple guys bouncing back from injury. The young guys have a year under their belt, and some redshirts will get a chance. TE should finally be an option with a true freshman target in CJ Conrad. Was also surprised to see Jacob Hyde, a friend from Clay County KY, get some reps at FB in a jumbo type look. The UK run attack should be better, and less man to man running and more zone blocking. This is the year for Boom Williams to show up.

My dad talks high of Jacob Hyde. He kept up with him being so close to my old home.

He is a super nice guy. I met him in a freshman WRD class. Down to earth country guy. Invited me over to some of the facilities and got to meet some guys. Great guy.

Somewhere along the way, they'll block themselves and confuse the hell out of us.

Atlanta sports radio said they don't have a clear cut QB yet. 46k showed up to watch, which was a record crowd. Chubb & Marshall didn't really play.

Couple of guys I work with went to it. They said the qb situation is gonna suck this year, but defense looks good.

Florida has announced that the playing career of offensive lineman Rod Johnson has come to an end.

More OL blues for da Gators.
