And that does not include others that will be joining this summer
Pearson has created as much buzz as any of Tennessee's 14 January early enrollees, and it's clear that the Vols' coaches like what he brings to the table. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder from Virginia was singled out by Jones after Friday's practice for taking a short throw and turning it into a big play. He's working in the slot with Pig Howard (personal) out for spring, and so far he's made some noise.
In the first rep, rising sophomore cornerback Malik Foreman, who's pushing for a potential starting spot, broke up a slant pass in the end zone intended for Josh Malone, the five-star freshman receiver.
Junior college transfer receiver Von Pearson pulled one back for the offense with an excellent grab on a fade route in the back corner of the end zone against Cam Sutton, the Vols' All-SEC freshman corner from 2013.
Rising senior Justin Coleman won it for the defense, though, by snagging a 50-50 ball from Marquez North on a fade pattern.
* Receivers coach Zach Azzanni clearly likes junior college newcomer Von Pearson a lot. Pearson looks more polished than the younger players and is a vocal and enthusiastic practice player.
* Freshman receiver Josh Malone has passed the look test, although Jones got on him during one drill for sloppy mechanics.
During some pass skeleton work, Ethan Wolf continued to impress
Defensively, Jakob Johnson continues to show physically very well while he's catching up from a mental and playbook standpoint. But Johnson already is carving potential roles in special teams.
LaDarrell McNeil was getting reps with the ones today after Lemond Johnson opened there on Friday.
Sutton had a nice interception during an early drill on Saturday (see the video here), but he was burned by Pearson during a portion of Fridays practice closed to the media. A highlight of Pearsons touchdown played on a loop in the Tennessee football facility on Saturday.

Every day, every day I go out there I think about that. Or if Im having a day where Im not as motivated, I go back and look at that and think about how I felt at that time. All the anger and passion I felt, Vereen told InsideTennessee. I just take that everyday and it drives me toward what I need to do out there. I want to prove those people wrong.
Vereen said Williams is clearly the strongest defensive linemen on roster, adding that the 6-foot-2, 289-pounder can rep 455 pounds on the bench press and rattle off 655 pounds squats like its nothing.
